The scene where Forrest and his son Nathan argue about him going to Lily's house is a very powerful one. You can see the conflict on Forrest's face. Yes times were different back then but he knows deep down that there's no really good and legitimate reason against blacks and whites being social. Nathan is able to figure this out easily because he hasn't been corrupted by the adult world yet. I love it when children teach these lessons to adults.

@@rossauradiaz5056 hi there, I'll Fly Away originated on NBC in 1991 thru 1993. Afterwards public TV station PBS that is funded and supported by charitable contributions from corporations and it's viewers aired the TV series. Many people finds the show's subject matter to be inappropriate or going backwards instead of forward or cause racial tensions to surface making it unappealing to other networks, of the channels you mentioned, Dove Channel would be the best choice for this TV show. The boy in the show is John Aaron Bennett that plays the role of John Morgan Bedford, the youngest Son and child of U.S. Attorney Forrest Bedford

From the PBS rebroadcasts in 1993 (as indicated by the "Viewers Like You" intro card). They agreed to produce and broadcast the series finale movie after NBC cancelled the show, and part of the agreement was that they got to re-run the entire series for a limited time with no licensing fee.

@@rossauradiaz5056I think PBS produced it but I may be wrong. I faithfully watched it one night a week on ch 4 - Chapel Hill in the 1990s. I would like to have the series of DVD.

Missing is Episode 16, “The Way Things Are”. Someone else had posted it, but those postings had been taken done. We need this series, one of tge treasures of the otherwise wasteland of television. NBC did everything to sabotage this series thirty years ago, and ultimately succeeded. I appreciate your efforts in keeping “I’ll Fly Away” in circulation. If this series were available in DVD, I would buy it. I never tire of it.
