Hank claimed his two musical idols were Roy Acuff and Ernest Tubb. Boy, the ET influence sure shines through on this one. Thanks for posting this jewel.

Best singer/song-writer in american history. If hank didn't make these songs, no one would have... he will never be replaced. His impact on music over the past 60 years cannot ne over-stated. RIP

Richard Sales Absolutely! Unfortunately, this great music is becoming a part of our history. Ask young Americans who of them knows Hank, or his 'I saw the Light'? They say it's the progress, but for me it's degrading...

I only recently discovered Hanks music myself. First time I looked into his body of work I was absolutely amazed. How he did what he did with not even a highschool education is a mystery to me. I majored in English in college, amd I put him up there with the all time greats for the effectvness of his poetry. Truely amazing man!

Hank and Moon Mulligan were two originals. Great song writers and performers. They brought cajun music to the mainstream. I would have loved to seen a duet by them. They were friends and sometimes shared ideas for songs. They don't make like these two anymore.

THANK YOU for posting this! Haven´t heard it ever before! There seems to have been a close association between Hank and Moon Mullican - this song, Cherokee Boogie, aso. Story has it that Jambalaya was co-authored by Hank and Moon on the back of a restaurant bill - can anyone confirm? Anyway, there´ll never be another Hank, he´ll live forever in our ears!
