Daemon is a twisted psycho, but at the end of the day he was fiercely loyal to his brother. He always just wanted to be by his side, that’s why he got pissed at him for not making him his hand. I don’t think he ever really wanted the throne. Viserys is always on Daemons mind, he mentions that they stole “his brothers throne” and not Rhaenyras. He’s said that twice now I believe. Viserys was actually a pretty good King. No wars under his reign. His biggest issue was being a people pleaser. Even having to remarry was a part of that, because he didn’t actually want to remarry. If he had two or three wives from the jump, his original would’ve probably survived, his family would’ve had a much stronger claim, and the complete destabilisation that happened as soon as he died would’ve been avoided.

He was far from the worst king, all things considered he was very good. He kept the peace. All the lords of the kingdom and the common people were fond of him and enjoyed prosperity during his reign, and he always kept them in line. Sure he failed a bit when it came to his family, but he was a man stretched thin. He was such a jovial and caring guy that seeing his family fighting tore him apart, not to mention his endless stress, grief, and terrible sickness. He could have done a whole lot worse.

This honestly….I don’t know if GRRM meant for this to be a whole thing with Daemon, but the HotD portrayal is a phenomenal display of NPD in a person. He is bravado, cocksure, impulsive, and does things to hurt loved ones….meanwhile he loves those family members fiercely. What did he seem to want so far in the show more than anything? His brother’s love. I bet if they pulled the story back more, he wanted daddy’s love too trying to become what he thought was the perfect Targaryen. Then he wants Rhaenyra’s love. Every time he feels like he’s trying to do things for them when he screws up, and when they get mad at him for it, he bails because they rejected him. It’s amazing. They show him on his fixated person, then he turns when he thinks they reject him. To me, it’s like the Harrenhal thing is the HotD version of going to Club Med 😂

Best series ever so far. Or I think they've done good with what they got. Great casting, acting, cant complain about special effects really. The only only thing so far for both shows that i would change besides the infamous last seasons of g.o.t would be to make all the castles more like the books. Every single castle thats been shown has been shrunk and leaves alot to be desired if you know how they're supposed to look. Dragonstones suposed to be shaped like dragons and have near a thousand stone dragons built into the castle. Casterly rock is suposed to be quite a bit higher than the wall. Highgarden is suposed to have a garrison of 100k + soldiers and have 3 huge walls. Winterfell in the shows so far is a dilapidated shack. Lol. Would have just loved to see the real dragonstone. Riverrun they did decent i guess but it wasnt all that special or intricate of a castle. Also dragonstone is suposed to have a medium sized town outside it, maybe theyl show it when they look for dragonseeds hopefully. They better not blackfish us and kill anyone likeable or important off screen again. Also hope to see ALL the wild dragons and ALL of the things sunfyre does. Someone or multiple people better get a fn reward for acting for vizzy t, daemon, corlys, otto, rheanera, alicent and mr simpsalot sir crispen corn.
