I find more peace in forests and nature personally but reading your comment I can't help but imagine tollbooths must be comforting as well. Kinda like a bubble of space that's cozy and private with the world around you.
This reminds me of driving back from senior prom with my buddy. We only went because both our moms insisted that we go just for the experience. It was loud and stuffy inside, and the only "refreshments" there were bottled water. We weren't brave enough to ask anyone to dance, and it was a chilly, rainy night out, so I brought us outside. It was so nice. We chatted for a while until it got late. Of the whole experience, driving him home and grabbing some fast food for dinner was my favorite part. Anyway. Just gonna hit the paper airplane icon now and wonder if my story interests anyone. Night.

I miss being young and falling asleep to the rain on the windows. My mother would carry me from the car, and my father would carry my older brother, and they'd hurry us inside hoping the raindrops wouldn't wake us. I would open my eyes to them tucking me in and hushing me to go back to sleep, in my warm bed, with the rain still on the window, and I'd drift back to sleep after getting a kiss on the forehead from both of them. When my parents got divorced, the worst part of it for me (at first) was the fact that I wouldn't have both my parents wishing me goodnight at the same time anymore... I'm older now, but these driving videos remind me of a time where I didn't worry about anything, and thought that my parents would always be side by side with me each night. There's a bittersweet warmth to this feeling... I'll sleep with this warmth, and see you all in the morning. Good night.

I have a vivid memory from my childhood. It was night, and my parents, me and my sister were coming home from a nearby city. My little sister was asleep and I was barely awake. We were passing through a wooded area, and it started to rain. I felt in a bubble of darkness and warmth. I put my head on the window and looked outside. This reminds me of the time I first connected with my girlfriend. I was at work, night shift, storming outside like you wouldn't believe. Probably around midnight when she walked in, absolutely drenched. She didn't know I worked there and was quite surprised to see me, as we weren't the fondest of one another at the time. I went over to her and asked if I could do anything, (as much as I didn't like her, it's no fun being drenched). She ignored my efforts at first but eventually gave in, telling me she didn't exactly know where to go. I offered to drive her home, she denied due to some family issues. Eventually we settled on me taking her back to mine once my shift was over. The car ride was uncomfortable at first, though softened once I noticed she'd fallen asleep. I remember just kinda sitting there, confused on what to do, and was lowkey dying at how pretty she always managed to be. I woke her up when we reached my house and we spent the rest of the night getting to know one another better. We've now been together for 3 years, as of December 22nd it will be 4. Thank you for this video :)

One of my favorite college memories is of driving back to our shared apartment on a cold, rainy winter night with the car heater keeping us toasty warm, letting my friends doze off while I took us home. Dark, empty streets, glimmers of light through the windows of houses we passed by, the sound of tires on wet pavement, the feeling of deep fondness for the two other people in the car, knowing that they were comfortable enough to fall asleep. We live far apart now and don’t keep in touch, but it’s nice to remember the good times

when i was a kid my dad had a job that pulled in a nice amount of money but always had him on business trips more than at home. i remember the drives to the airport to pick him up in the early morning were exactly like this. i miss back then. thank you for helping me remember

Although now that I think about it, I would never be able to do this. I love listening to music too much

This is the only soundtrack that helps me stay productive while studying. I appreciate its calming and repetitive nature because it allows me to get into the flow without being distracted by various beats and sounds. I've relied on this soundtrack during my most challenging and lengthy study sessions. Every time I listen to it, I instantly feel calmer and more focused.

Its 4am and i still cant sleep. My mind is spinning around even though i am so tired. First i was very frustrated and now i am in the stage of just accepting it, knowing that i will get through the next day somehow, like i always do. It felt good to read all the comments with my tired eyes. Watching the video i imagine, that my boyfriend drives me through the night and only the thought of it makes me a little more happy and soothes me. It makes me realize how much i love him, even though we both struggle sometimes with all the stress. Somehow reading other peoples thoughts about this video soothes me too, cause knowing that others struggle too and that everybody has its own little (or big) problems makes me feel less alone in withstanding hard times. So if you are reading this, if you cannot sleep or if theres is something that troubles you: keep in mind that you are going to make it through like you did before. On some days it is enough to just "survive". If you experienced a bad day and you are laying in bed, still alive, you have made it and you should be proud. There will be other days, where you will achieve more, but on this particular day you survived and thats enough. Be kind to yourself!

thank you for your words... thats what i needed... i too couldnt sleep and accidentally found this wonderful video with such wonderful and interesting comments to read... heartwarming or heart wrenching, or stories that made me feel lonely and envious but in a good way... to me it feels so special, cozy and unique to read all these while listening to the water and the road 🚗🍃🌧️☔

This reminds me of me and my family late in the night, going back at home from visiting some relatives or a birthday party or something, and I just enjoyed this long rides. It's so relaxing man.

I love long car rides. It often gave me the excuse to just space out and stare at the road. Miss those days ☹️

usually not one for rainy days, but anytime im on the way home from my parents’ hometown with them in the backseat and it starts raining while the sun’s going down, it really is one of the most comforting feelings ever

it’s okay to be lost. the maze is big with lots of twists and turns and dead ends. but when you hit a dead end, you don’t stop. you turn around and keep going. there is a way out and it may not always be the easiest path. take your time, friend. i will walk with you.
