Being an OLD musician, roadie, and recording engineer doing the 24 or more hours up was a norm. I was a recording engineer back in the 70's no computer anything so no save and come back later and finish. Also sometimes a client would book two days and they would finally go home late, but we'd have to stay and edit the keeper takes from tapes and make master reel of the tunes to work on the next day. So many time one day turned into two. The other nightmare was working night on a mix and your not finished, but someone has the studio booked for a morning session. Since I the assistant engineer I would have to write down the setting on every knob on the console and outboard gear then write down even patch in the patchbay, then zero the console for the next client. Then in the evening when we'd start again have reset everything PRAY its was close to the night before. The DAW world is so much easier now, click save and get some sleep.

Man, i feel u. I was in the DAW era. 2007-2013 was my most active time. We’d just be living in the studio at this hip hop major label in ny. Like literally. Later on, I tried to do my thing as a second engineer for a Hollywood studio and there were more than a few occasions where you’d have to be up for 2 or 3 days in a row. That couch in the back wall wasn’t there just for decoration haha. We had some analog gear still at the time and i had to write down all the settings, get coffee, collect the remainder of the cocaine particles and put it in a baggie. Dirtiest business I’ve ever been a part of in teh day of the gatekeepers. I think dirtier than drug dealing. Peace

@@LDreTheGiantnah u def could’ve held it down homie! If it was the norm standard, you would’ve def rose to the occasion. But recent years is, i think, the best time to be a beat maker or producer in terms of fulfillment and access.
