Not quite accurate in terms of backstory lol- the Omega Mart lore goes pretty deep and you kinda have to visit their installation in Vegas in person to get all the info from all the clues they present. 14:16 "Is it supposed to do that?" Yes! Same reason skyscrapers sway in the wind: if it didn't have some give, it would just split and shatter. Imagine trying to bend a rubber tube compared to a glass tube - the rubber tube would easily bend, then bounce back, while the glass tube would take a little more force, but then suddenly explode.
@serixskylark4 ай бұрын
Human instinct tells you to be afraid of unstable ground, even when grounds are manufactured to be completely safe while still bending the way they do, so it’s always interesting trying to fight that fear even if you know that logically, it should be safe.

The lemon eyeball is a souvenir from a Meow Wolf (artist’s collective) installation in Las Vegas called Omega Mart. It’s an art exhibit mimicking a “strange” grocery store with purchasable products, which leads into a highly detailed and lore-filled representation of a desert town that has been transformed by mysterious paranormal happenings. It’s very Welcome To Night Vale/X Files if you like that kind of thing.

I have experienced one "creepy" thing that I still to this day have no explanation for. It was Midsummer's Eve here in Finland, which meant that the sun didn't really set at all during the night, at its darkest it was twilight. My husband (then boyfriend) and I were walking through a kids' playground. When we approached the swing set, we noticed that the swings were swinging a bit without a reason. It was a completely wind-free night and not a single soul around. When we walked closer, the swings started picking up speed. I was fascinated and wanted to investigate further, but my husband got the mega creeps from it and wanted to get away. I pulled up my phone and captured some video footage of it, before walking away with him. When I got home, that exact video file was missing from my phone. I know I captured it, because I watched the clip back just after exiting the park, and I didn't accidentally delete it or anything. All the pictures before and after this video clip were there, but not the swing set video clip I *KNEW* I recorded. I have no explanation for what happened to this day.

Yeah, while not scary or terrifying in the traditional sense, fuck a bunch of sand dunes. We vacationed in Michigan a few years ago and went up a hill about half that height and it was miserable and exhausting thanks to the sand. Shockingly, not having a solid surface to push off of makes climbing incredibly difficult.
@linglingspacewhales197716 күн бұрын
There is this impossibly large and steep sand dune at Dillons Beach CA. My friends family has an annual camping trip there and I got to go one year. It’s a rite of passage to scale the giant sand dune every time they go and the older folks time the climbers. I don’t think it’s as high as the Sleeping Bear sand dune, but it’s high as heck and steep as hell. Near vertical climb and it’s all sand. Took me 2 hours to climb up and I was in peak physical condition due to all the sports I played and actively ran and worked out. I misjudged how difficult it would be because I’m from the mountains and love to hike… but man, sand is a whole different ball game. 😅

2:52 I have construction background so i can explain the ”doors opening on their own“ phenomena, wich makes it not scary for me. Houses settle after a time, especially door frames since they are made from wood most of the time. That can shift frames by a few cm wich is enough for doors to not properly close or open on their own. They can also open due to pressure differences in rooms (yes even if latched) if the door is not aligned correctly. Wood can also contract or expand due to temperatures, wich can lead to it making cracking/creaking noises especially at night due to temperature dropping. In Germany we still have a lot of really old buildings so i‘v had all of these happen a lot personally. Its more annoying than spooky

The meaning of "skin crawling" is just a disgusting/uncomfortable feeling. Most take it to feel like bugs/spiders are crawling on their skin and it gives you the heebie jeebies or a full body shudder basically lol also as someone who has gone to Sleeping Bear many times, I refuse to go down. The dune is over 450ft tall and is at a 45* grade slope (or about 26 degrees) as you get closer. People Start by walking down and by the time they cress over the top portion theyre rolling or running because it goes so steep. Its also hot as fuck cause Sand. and the rescue used to be cheaper but the increase levels of the lakes have made the beach at the bottom non-existent so they have to call the coast guard to come get your ass via boat

I've only had one instance of something turning on that was kind of crazy but... I also have cats so I could rationalize it on them... but one night I woke up and noticed a light that was on. I thought at first someone broke into the house (that wouldn't make sense if you're trying to be sneaky... unless you thought nobody was home) I ran all over the house checking each room. I also made sure the doors were still locked and... I think they were, but it's been long enough for me to question it. My wife and I concluded that our cats probably thought it was something like a fly on the wall and tried to pounce on it... they have never done this before or since, so its always one of those... what could it have been? Ghost did cross my mind because why not, but also some crazy electrical fluke. We had 3 way light switches too so.. who knows.

3:27 I literally had a fortune cookie that said: Run! I'm not joking, I keep it in my phone case. At first it kinda creeped me out, but soon just became funny.

I can realistically imagine Rocky also felt like the robot was trying to flirt with him, so your not alone on that one Greg!

New sub. you’re damn adorable, you’ve got the sweetest eyes babe. Love the scary pictures, chariot man was my fave. Honestly, if my rendering of a man on a chariot came out to that, I’d be so proud.

I stayed in this dodgy res for a week during one of my med school rotations., it was just me and maybe 5 other people in the whole building at the time. The lights in the bathrooms were motion activated and there was no one else on my floor using those particular bathrooms. Whenever I was in the shower the motion detector lights in the hallway would go off, but there was never anyone there. Freaked me out good

Grandparents yard was terrifying, the window was crystal clear but also reflective in weird ways so you'd see outside but then you'd only see your relection somehow and it'd look like you're staring at yourself from outside the dim yard.

My bathroom light switch is OUTSIDE the bathroom. I live alone except for my cat so I shower with the door open and the hall light on, too.
