One of the most upsetting things for me is never being able to see extinct animals, so hearing the Kauai’ō’o’s final mating call to a partner that doesn’t exist is heartbreaking. I don’t think it’s a lukewarm take to be upset by extinct animals, because it forces you to cherish the animals that exist now

The center of their bottem jaw isnt connected either, and has ligiments ment to stretch with the rest of the jaw. Then wolf eels ; Theyre just fucking terrifying. No notes.

for those wondering what the blue pod is, it's called a Sarco pod! (based upon sarcophagus). a more in depth explanation below. read with caution it was used for euthanasia practices, done by releasing liquid nitrogen (which turned into a gaseous state), causing inert gas asphyxiation. it was created by 3d printing in 2017 by a Swiss euthanasia campaigner. the Sarco pod was created to be mobile, so the user could decide where they wished to pass. this specific pod was probably in the forest for that reason; the person probably wanted to die in a serene forest environment.

@17:27 Ah, yeah - I had the same experience. Worked for a hardware store, and for some reason the boss said that they wouldn't just pipe the normal radio over the tannoy for "licensing reasons" (it was sheer BS, lots of other stores just used the regular radio). What we got was a special satellite radio station with only the songs my ex-boss paid for. So we ended up listening to the same 10 songs 11 months out of the year (except for the winter season, where we were annoyed by an even smaller set of holiday songs played on repeat), year in and year out. Bought myself a pair of headpiece earplugs at the store's gun counter and wore them while I was working. Store owner chewed me out, but I told him to his face that his music selection was getting on my nerves. I told him that the earplugs stay or I go. That incident and a lot of other ones contributed to my finding another job.

When I first started at Toys R Us, they had an ancient tape deck for the music that played the same 45 minute tape on loop for my entire 8 hour shift. They eventually upgraded to a satellite broadcast system that had a much wider variety of songs that were actually random, but even now almost 20 years later when I hear one of those "TRU" songs anywhere, I still cringe and get mild PTSD flashbacks - I worked overnight truck most of that time and that was a _very_ high stress job to work, especially during winter holidays. Most of the truck crew had headphones and mp3 players.

A boat, fishing line, splash, or even a goose flying overhead can scare them into jumping almost 10 feet in the air. Plus, they're super invasive.
