If I'm not mistaken, the plastic thingies are bobbins. They're used to wrap the string around to shorten it and make it easier to work with.

Mika Henari it's actually harder to work with when there's a bobbin (coming from an avid friendship bracelet maker) because you can't grip the thread where you want to so the knots are much more likely to be loose or inconsistent

I honestly think the app showing people how to make it if an AWESOME idea. If you want to have a way to keep it more organized, get the front of a cereal box, and cut one slot in the top bunch of slits in the bottom there you go, diy iloom😂😂😂

See I was really mad at this product. I was super excited for it and it looked awesome when I first got it. My grandma had gotten it for me for christmas, and I only have a kindle fire hd 8. She didn't read you could only have Apple on it. Anyways I was sooo mad. I was tempted to tell the company it was so sad, because I was willing to buy all of the gadgets and trinkets and packs if only I could use the product. That would get them upset they made it to one company only. Not even one freaking company, the iPad minis don't work for it, and the iPad pro's don't either. Like wtf

You can use embroidery thread, any craft store should carry the threads for bracelet making. Or check an online craft store and Amazon

I figure that this loom is best for making bracelets with 12ish strings which can be complicated to do by hand.

BrownRiceBunny1 12 isnt complicated at all. I mean maybe for a beginner, though all you need is patience and you could make a 100 string bracelet. For me it only really gets frustrating when I have more than 20 strings.

Andi Burbank agreed! I'm a beginner-intermediate and I've just finished my 11th bracelet. It was a 21-string bracelet (#2332 on braceletbook.com - my photo @asperitas is there too) and the strings were initially overwhelming but once you've made 1/4 to 1/3 of the bracelet then it all makes sense and the threads are shorter so it's much easier. People make 40 string bracelets. Even more. 12 strings is a decent place to start and you'll soon adapt.

The little plastic things are meant for you to wrap the string around so it isn't so long. Pretty smart actually, I do that a lot working with my bracelets😂

I was trying to make bracelets to sell, since I can’t find a job & with the $300 extra unemployment, I bought a bunch of looms and stuff cause trying w/o a loom lead to super knots and tangles. Even with looms & KZbin tutorials, I realized that they take WAY too long to complete and there’s no actual way to make even gas money off of them. I’m heart broken over that, but it was my fault. I’ve got 2.5 granddaughters that I can use these with in 8 years or so 😒
