I must treat sugar as a street drug- I must stay away completely. I replace with artificial sweeteners and natural sweeteners. Also I cut out gluten/corn/rice/potatoes. The Lord showed me that I have to abstain from sugar completely, yet other people can have it in moderation and are fine. Praise God you are finding answers that help you both.

Ladies lose much slower, so I wouldn't expect Christa to be on par with your loss Brad. Kudos to both of you for taking good care of yourselves. When I learned how hard that sugar is on the liver, it upped my sugar game. If you are flatulating a lot, that's one way your body is telling you, too much sugar. We must remember that white foods like pasta and bread, turn to sugar in the body, I concur. I like the stevia, my son hates it! I was surprised to learn the list of things that cause inflamation. Cutting out tomatoes was soooo hard for me. Coffee? Down to 2 cups max but would love to quit it altogether. I know how inflamatory coffee is. The 80 / 20 rule works for me too. You are an inspiration... (Sometimes when we think we are hungry, it is the body asking for water.)

Congratulations on your weight loss. I have been on a low carb program. That works for me. I have shed approximately 70 pounds. I also try to practice the intermittent fasting. I do need to exercise more. Thank you for sharing! Keep up the good work! I understand the sugar cravings. Cutting out fast foods helps a lot. Challenging but helpful Blessings

Congratulations you guys on your weight loss. I cut sugar out of my coffee and I don't miss it. I drank more water and cut down how much I drank and swapped coffee for herbal tea. I found my body can't process stevia or other fake sugars. My liver function tests go off the chart if I have diet shakes that have xylatol or stevia to sweeten them. I carb cycle so I eat bread and pasta one day, and not the next and I find I don't have sugar cravings any more. I eat more meat and love baked vegetables 🤤 I hate the word diet. My hips hear that word and I swear they grow 😂 Keep moving and being active. Gentle walks, dance, chair workouts are fun too. I wish I could say I dropped 50 pounds, but only 12, sticking with it. Keep up the good work you two! You can do it! 💐

I used all brands of organic stevia for 10 years. Daily. Even water with stevia. Then one day out of clear blue skies I started dropping things out of my hands. I eliminated things one by one, and when I eliminated stevia, I immediately felt the difference. It was effecting my nervous system. This was 3 years ago. I think I would have been ok, if I didn’t use it daily. I haven’t followed up on the research of it but I would think it should be recommended not to use daily. Like to much of anything is not good. Now I just use whole fruit when I have a sweet treat craving. Unlike stevia, it has nutritional value. I make sure I don’t overdo it on that! Also, fasting works!

That happened to me with turmeric. I was taking it for my arthritis and inflammation and suddenly started having MS like symptoms. I was dropping everything, stumbling, slurring my words now and then. My Nat Path doctor was at a loss so did an extensive food allergy panel lab draw....and low and behold...I was off the chart allergic to turmeric. It only took a week of stopping the supplements and I was no longer having those symptoms. Perhaps you are allergic to stevia. I believe it's in the ragweed family.

@@kimmyj9617 thanks for your experience with Tumeric. I don’t think I”m “allergic” to stevia. I think it was the daily use of it for the long period of time. It was addicting. So I’m fine without it.

I use a pure stevia powder I get from Amazon. It comes in a brown resealable bag. I am using Alulose, a little erythritol, some xylitol. If you like peanut butter cookies you can take 1 cup peanut butter, 1 egg and 1/2 cup Alulose or other sweetener. Mix it well then I add sugar free semi sweet chips. It will actually turn into a dough like regular dough and bake accordingly. It makes a nice treat.

Can you do a video on the round dietary thingy you were talking about? I use the stevia from wally world with maltodextrin and like it (appreciate a link to the stuff you talked about), do pretty much the intermittent fasting and lost 10#...but I can't get past that. I walk between 6 and 10k steps daily for my work and that's my only form of exercise cause when I get home I am too stinkin tired to do anything else. I am trying to bring in more veg to my diet and limit bread, pasta and rice to 1x per week. Bread however is kicking my tail end. I don't eat alot mind you but I guess I could switch to flour burito shells...as I understand it those arent much better. It's a struggle everyday no matter what.

What helped me kick the cravings to the curb was intermittent fasting. I replaced my cravings with meat, fish, chicken, bacon & butter. Another thing that lowers the glucose spike after a meal, eat the bread, starch or pasta last, then walk for 20 min after the meal. If you eat the bread/pasta/starches first, then you will get the glucose spike.

When eating for health, you've got to have a diet you can keep for life. It must be sustainable. And long-term supplements is not a good game plan. I am "keto" except all clean (local, or small-farm raised, or organic. I am not Kosher per se) foods, no processed "keto" food. My cheat items are things like a ripe peach from the orchard nearby. I have a high-meat diet with selected veggies to get color on my plate. I do not feel good on strict carnivore. I am experimenting with no sweetener in my coffee, but if I use sweetener, it is raw honey or a small amount of organic cane sugar. I am also incorporating changing to good sleep habits and moving more, more often, and daily routines. And NO seed oils, at all. I use butter, EVOO, ghee, homemade beef tallow, coconut oil etc.

Victorias Keto Kitchen on yt- her GF Keto All Purpose Flour is a cup of cup replacement and it really does taste like the real thing. An entire loaf of bread is super easy to make and I think has 4 carbs. I made her tortillas today to have the keto big mac tortilla wrap. I use allulose. No cravings. Lost 12lbs in a month. You can make cookies, cakes, you name it, its tastes great, not like keto which I did for years 3 years ago. Its not hard. The flour blend is not hard to make. You won't miss the real stuff and its super healthy and filling. She's a preachers wife who controls her epilepsy with keto.
