These days we block almost anyone who asks a question. Sad & defeatist as that may seem, on balance we have only ever have difficulty with people who ask questions as they don't read, don't understand, say they ordered in error or are looking to troll you / pick a fight. Life is a lot simpler if you eliminate any opportunity for the trolls to get under your skin.

Glad you're making some good money in the long run here. About inventory, one thing I found that helps manage space is anything I have to box, I won't pick up unless I can make 5x profit on. It keeps inventory of larger items down to just bangers, and makes the hassle of shipping actually worth it. My inventory decreased in size but increased in profitability, and my income didn't noticeably change.

New Sub here. Just found your channel tonight from your first vid in this lost job started flipping stuff series and watched them all so far. I am looking into getting back into flipping stuff, but am nervous to do eBay just because of all those hassles and difficult people you reveal. Anyway, Rarely do I binge a KZbinr solid in one sitting. But your personality is fun to watch and your video style is like how it was in old school beginning KZbin days when almost everyone was more real, not overly produced or scripted.. just real people uploading with their phones. I still like to make videos that way too so maybe that’s why I love your editing style. I saw some folks being stupidly critical of your style, like wth? Blows me away that people take time out of their lives to make ugly comments and go off on you for stupid crap. Like, if it’s not your flavor move on. Anyway your style rocks.. keep it up. I love the transparency and stream of internal dialogue you share out loud and how real you are. Also learning a ton while being genuinely entertained. Good stuff. Great personality and you are adorably handsome to boot. 😊 ( And You gave the best Better Help Ad I’ve ever seen. Laughed my butt off. ) Wow! My comment is long. Oops. 😅

I have require immediate payment on every listing, didn’t realize that was an option. Wait you’re saying those things help improve traffic or reduce?
@jeffkogaoldvideos6 ай бұрын
@@Analog_money traffic is round robin (technical term is: round robin load balancing). It's a simple answer to a complex thing. Short answer is you get X amount of traffic. So if you don't have required payment or put tight criteria Eg No buyers with 2 non-payment in last 12 months. You'll get people who have non payment strikes. So if you only get lets say 1K impressions - and it will be blended. God speed.

I just had a terrible customer (and my first bad review) I've started doing consignment for people in my community (in addition to personally sourcing products) and I had a last minute change up prior to me having a good contract so I had to cancel an order. Refunded same day, gave full explanation, but nothing was going to make them happy! Wrote BUYERS BEWARE…. Thankfully I've already had multiple 5 star reviews so its not effecting my sales. Thanks for your videos! 🎉
@Analog_money6 ай бұрын
Yes so I’d highly highly advise against selling stuff for other people, I’ve put a ton of thought into it and is something I’d considered. But one of the biggest downsides is you’re not able to make decisions and as a seller that’s probably your number one advantage. Like if someone shoots me an offer I can say yes or no instantly, not have to ask, but they’re away on vacation, and they’ll call me when they have a chance. Resale=asset business, consignment=service business. Idk just too much headache but if you like its all good. Thank you for watching!
@UnconventionalMarketing6 ай бұрын
@@Analog_money Thanks for your insights! This is something I have definitely considered, most of the clients I have tell me that I can price it how I see fit, and I also revised my contracts so that it clearly states that I sell the items based on market research and on its fair market value, which has already saved me from a headache from someone who thought their stuff was way more. It's been a way to build up the funds to reinvest into my own sourcing and reselling. Its been a learning experience to say the least when it comes to how to talk to, and deal with clients lol. I agree with you though, definitely not what I want to be the main part of my business. Appreciate ya, thanks man!

Sounds like an APO or FPO military address. The destination is usually to a US military installation on foreign soil. So it still needs custom paperwork since it travels to a foreign country on its way to the military installation. Prices to APO or FPO addresses fall under domestic pricing. If you were shipping just to the foreign country prices are usually twice as much, if not more.

hope the new laptop is making editing easier, just a tip i edit my month to month videos the opposite of you, i edit a few clips at a time after them being filmed instead of doing a bulk editing session! its feels like less work editing if that makes sense!

You should use 2% promoted listings on all your items. It will double or triple your sales
@Analog_money6 ай бұрын
I have done that recently, it definitely does help
@sethtanner16 ай бұрын
@@Analog_money I might also move the words “Tested Works” to the end of your listing title for Seo reasons. You will come behind anyone else that lists the same item if they don’t sort.

@sethtanner1 gotcha! Thanks never thought about that but makes a lot of sense, no one is really looking up “testing works” haha

This is why I stopped selling on ebay and marketplace for the most part. People are stupid and I don't want to deal with them.

I absolutely hate DIY is on eBay. I sell a lot of electrical goods always receiving returns and negative feedback when I ask to send me a picture of the product I can visually see that it’s installed wrong😂
@Analog_money3 ай бұрын
EXACTLY! so I’ve found selling them in bulk lots really really cuts down on that, no diyer is buying 6 faucets haha

i'm enjoying the content, but you should make a video going to amazon bins, and finding items today, i bought a tablet, reselling it tomorrow for 300

Careful shipping the smoke detectors. They’re considered Hazardous because of the radioactive material in them. Pretty sure USPS requires you to mark them as Radioactive-Limited Quantity and ship by surface only.

The ebay block list is SUPER important.
@Analog_money5 ай бұрын
For sure, definitely been trying to build it. I think an app where people could share their blocklist and it would filter usernames by how many times they’ve been blocked and allow sellers to see most blocked users is a million dollar idea, although eBay would probably sue
@Radio-TTS5 ай бұрын
@@Analog_money I would pay for a good block list
@mister7fiddlesnout6 ай бұрын
I don't know if this is an option, but if your postings are able to have a lot feature where if someone buys 5 or more different listings that it prompts an overall discount. Because you said that flash discount days don't really bring in much of a difference in purchases, and you want inventory moving. This is something that could be live all the time, and invites larger bundle orders.
@Analog_money6 ай бұрын
Oh yeah not exactly but you can use coupons in that way which is probably a better route. Good idea thanks for watching!

Great series so far! I’d update your profit calculation, though. It should be Income - Fees - Shipping - Refunds - Cost of the items you sold. Then, new inventory purchased should be a separate category. It’s investment into new product, not a loss!
@Analog_money6 ай бұрын
I get the last part but the rest of it nah, I don’t track sales before fees and not going to add anything else to my plate. Also it’s not relevant at all because you can’t control it. As far as the reinvestment into inventory yes but it much easier to comprehend money out vs money in. Thanks for watching
@lexwaters9096 ай бұрын
@@Analog_money yeah just show income like you currently have it (net of fees). Just saying that you can see your actual profit margin if at the end you subtract the cost of the products sold instead of new purchases. Either way keep up the good work
@Analog_money6 ай бұрын
Thank you, yes even for my own sake I don’t think I could do that because I buy stuff in lots so I don’t really have an individual COGS. For me I just am in the red on the entire lot until I recoup my investment and then I’m in the green after that. I look at the same way as if I was parting something out, I bought a whole car so I can’t determine how much of that was in the alternator vs the window switch. Hope that make’s sense Thank you for the support!

I'm a newer ebay seller. About 2 years. I don't sweat returns anymore they are less than 4% of my total sales. The only returns I fight are ones where someone returns the wrong item. I also insure my returns that are over $100 incase it's a scam and I get an empty box.

I also got my ebay account to just auto accept returns so I don't get mad. I just get an email that they've accept the return on my behalf. Because all they have to say is item is not as described which is BS but those cases can't he used against your seller performance.
