In my 28 years of work, have been retrenched four times. Learning to save and spot investment opportunity is key. However, one does get PTSD if you have been in one place for years and doing a job you love. But the mature way to cope is to say: "No hard feelings. The world don't owe you a living." You will be rewarded/paid according to the problems you can solve. More gems I have internalised: 1. You born poor it is not your fault. If you die poor, it is totally your fault. 2. Just because you cannot do it, does not mean it cannot be done. 3. Want to be successful, learn from those who are successful. Those who keep complaining, making excuses and blaming others can teach you nothing. 4. Don't keep complaining about the price of everything, but actually don't know the value of anything. 5. Nature/God distributes talents unfairly.

Hi Kelvin, thanks for this episode. It is very similar with my life in 2014. I was a game programmer team lead for mobile games in KL, taking investor money, and burnt all in 2 years, still hardly getting any good result. Still, it is a satisfaction seeing people playing our games in public. After lost my job, I went into algorithm trading, tried for 9 months, burnt my arm, and gave up. The same period, only my $TSLA shares bought in 2011 still growing, then I concluded the only way to make money in stock futures is long term investment. Too bad sold a few, you know, jobless ma. Else today already a millionaire.
