Amazing work Matt! I wonder if we can interpret the difference between contentional and non-contentional winrate as skill required to pilot a deck or rather as overall preparation against this kind of deck (it’s likely especially important if a deck is not very popular overall). Curious to deduct some kind of formula from this data to determine the most and the least skill-intensive decks to play :)

Thanks Pavel! This is a great critique, it’s hard to quantify skill impact on result and as such it is just a way in which I am interpreting the data. I may not have made it clear but the numbers are objective and my perspectives on the causes are subjective. My thinking is that skill is comprised of many components including combat math, strategy, preparation, format knowledge. In legacy I think experience and skill are a representation of these pieces. Maybe in short, skill is a proxy for combined skill, prep, and knowledge. Your thought about established vs fringe decks is spot on regarding how it can impact opposing play/players. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
