It's the best feeling in the world to become a father. The relationship IS hard to uphold but you do it anyways because you're parents now. No one is forcing anyone to stay in a relationship without love but supporting eachothers at this time is the most important thing you can do. Help eachothers out, spend time bonding with your newborn/newborns and just let life things take a pause. I wonder how this turned out in the long run, my guess is that he had numerous other affairs or ran off. BUT, there is a chance he actually started to grow a pair and choose the needs of his kids at the very least, above his own.
