Because it doesn’t make profit if phones actually lasted like they used to when all phones had plastic backing, even the premium ones. Think about it. If plastic the phone will be lighter therefore they don’t have to make it super slim, if not they could have space for a bigger battery, meaning the phone would last longer like the phones of old, but we all know everything made now days isn’t made to last because it means people won’t be upgrading constantly. It’s all about the money and how to make a profit. It’s a reason why we didn’t need a case or screen protector pre glass backing.

Absolutely.. just like my OnePlus 11 top spec model with the 16 GB of RAM and 256 storage. Found it on sale at Best buy for $599. It's display, processor, camera and battery are all flagship level, at a fantastic price. Even at $799 it's still absolutely worth it rather than spending $1,300 on the s23 ultra which has the same processor and display.

Im so tired of people touting glass backs. Plastic is far superior. I would even take wood over glass. Why would you purposely want to make your phone more fragile? Most people ive met with a glass back phone thats more than a year old, the glass is either cracked or just straight up shattered.

Glass also feels slippery. A bad thing to mix with a fragile back. My current phone has a glass back and it makes me anxious. If I eventually switch it will be back to plastic back.

As MKBHD said, cheap phones are getting good. The galaxy A54 and Pixel 7A are literally the best values for money in the world right now. For just $400 you can pretty much most of the flagships specs aside from the extra trinkets.

i switched from iphone to the pixel 7a like a year ago, never going to leave it again. i absolutely love this phone. its performance is great, the cameras can very easily compete with my dad's iphone 13 pro and stock android is just beautiful. the only flaw this phone has is that the plastic back can get scratches and micro dings very easily, but just put on a case and they're pretty much invisible. thanks google!

Plastic back is actually better against bumps and drops. It's less scratch resistant, but a uniformly worn in/scratched phone looks better than a drunk white girl shattered phone

I love how your honest, other KZbinrs go like, "it's day and night, it's so bad and this that..." but really it's all you need with a phone. You don't need to run a powerhouse. Yes, somethings like telephoto lens matter, atleast for me. The other factors such as 100x zoom, s pen and stuff ... Not really. I love the S23 Ultra, but still. My s22 is just as good, at least for me.

I have a 7a it is not as good as it seems, good for the first while but the more you use it the more bugs you see. Same issue I had with my iPhone 13, I have a 2nd phone (Huawei mate p10) and it's perfect decent camera, no bugs and amazing battery life defo prefer it over my 7a

I went from the 7 pro to the ultra. Both great phones but you really got to learn what the Samsung is capable of. Pixel features are really helpful with day to day features that you're gonna use and Samsung has productivity features and customization features and raw power. It's really preference

Well as a true Millennial born in 87’ who grew up during the 90’s and 2000’s long before a smart phone, it’s not that long ago that premium phones were made out of plastic. Suddenly glass is the new standard, which makes no sense to me as glass easily breaks, plastic doesn’t if hard and durable. Just ask my Nokia 3310, and early Samsung phones😬 But these days nothing is supposed to last, forever, as these companies won’t profit from quality 🤡 I’d take plastic backing any day over the glass on my iphone 15 pro max🙄

I'm using a budget android phone oneplus nord 3. And i love it. I have lots of free time in my work. I spent so much time in youtube. The 80w charger is what i love the most. Don't have to wait more than 15 minutes at max to get 20% to 80% soc. I don't think I'll ever buy a phone which has less than 65watt charging speed.
