Its time to durability test the new Google Pixel 7a. The cheapest in Googles latest lineup of phones. At first glance the 7a looks similar to the 7 and 7 Pro, however, there are some glaring differences that might improve... or hinder... its durability. Grab one of my Teardown Skins for your phone HERE: www.dbrand.com... or feel free to draw something cool on the back with a razor blade. Do what you want. I'm not your dad.

I wonder if glass will ever improve to 7-8, or because of physics, glass will be optimal with scratches at 6-7, since iirc materials that are harder to scratch are easier to shatter, and I think most people’s issue are cracked screens, not scratched screens.

I found a use for your burn test!!! When replacing the glass screen of a phone, without replacing the display, you need to use a little bit of heat that will soften the adhesive between the glass and the display, but if you use too much heat, it'll kill the display. Your burn test shows us how sensitive the display is to heat. That is very useful to know when you want to heat it up just enough to replace the glass and not damage the display

Man, there was a time when you bought a Nokia - and it came with all these amazing accessories, and it was the coolest thing about buying a new phone. I remember buying the Nokia N95, the packaging, the accessories, the whole package was so exciting. Plus you could buy different back plates for the phone and modify it. Same thing with Sony Ericsson Walkman phones, they had such an amazing unboxing experience. I miss those days, now you're lucky to even get a charging cable with your phone.

I agree theres a nice nostalgia to it, but lets be honest. Do we really need another charger, headphones or cable with every phone we're forced to purchase every so often becuase of planned obsolescence? It was nice to get all those accessories at the time, but I have enough chargers, headphones and cables now, especially since things have become more universal with usb-c. I just wish phone companies would reduce the cost considering they don't supply those extras anymore.

Also liked it but the concern is its only corning glass 3 (common for midranges in 2019, shld use corning 5), 90 hz (not 120hz) and 128gb no extra storage (no 256 with storage) cus whereas most midrange has higher specs than it tho
@danteerskine7678
@danteerskine7678 Жыл бұрын
@@jokast8861 I'm also concerned with this micro SD card slot removal leaving these phones with only 128 and 256 gb which can be filled easily. The Galaxy a73 despite being an expensive mid range has a micro SD card slot, Sony launched a flagship with Qualcomm snapdragon 8 gen 2 with a headphone jack and micro SD card slot. A headphone jack and micro SD card slot on a snapdragon 8 gen 2 seems unreal but Sony seems to be going against these big techs, that's a good job from Sony. So I don't see myself buying a phone with zero expandable storage and only 256 gigs just to have the benefit of in display fingerprint sensor as I don't use fingerprint sensor myself and curved screen as I don't like curved screen and will always pick a flat screen indeed. In display fingerprint sensor is garbage unless you own a s23 ultra and Samsung should stop following apple's trend, Huawei also has become Garbage since they find it innovative to ditch micro SD card on their mid range With micro SD, a simple Galaxy A13 or A14 can go up to 1 even 2 TB while you'll likely get stuck with the miserly 256 gigs on the s23 ultra, flagships are plain useless and a waste of money

Ive used several folding phones and honestly, if the main screen when folded isn't a normal size where its useable, then stay well clear. Folded its a square so mediia can't avail of the full inner display. If two s23 ultras were sandwiched together then id be back on the fordable train. Outer screen normal phone, inner screen when opened rectangular like a tablet. I learnt this to my cost. A lot of money spent for a tough lesson learned.

My theory with the removable buttons is that at the twilight of the phone's lifespan it usually malfunctions, at least with my experience on my one plus 6t that I've owned since 2019, the volume rocker doesn't work as it should anymore. So I figure that the removable button is to cater for a replacement...Not too shabby!
