My grandfather was in this band, and this was my mums favourite song. I expect he used to sing it to her when she was a child.Thankyou

This was a very popular recording, radio-request tune, and sheet music Hit Parade chart success in Britain toward the end of 1951 (according to my grandpapa, and he knows is olde tyme music). P.S: This would have been over a year before the first UK record Hitparade was published in November 1952. BTW Radio Luxembourg's Top Twenty Hit Parade (one of the most listened to shows) was based on the sheet music best-sellers - meaning that different versions of the hit tune were often played on the broadcast programme each week .. if the tune lasted more than one week on the chart. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqmcdn2kobCjY8k The Four Knights recording was also very popular .. but 'needle-time' restrictions limited the amount of air time available in the UK for non-British recorded music; so the Billy Cotton and Radio Revellers versions would be heard more often on the BBC.
