I just received the bug version , but with the brushed motor! Should have a review on it by the end of the weekend. I had a hard time choosing between the mini truck , the bug and the Cooper. Will probably get the mini truck sometime this summer. Even the brushed versions go quite well. I have a brushless Lancia version and also a Hoonigan styled mustang which is brushed as well. All are wicked great fun. They are certainly habit forming!😄😂😆 thanks for the awesome show and tell Phil. Happy Days 🙂☕️

Wow, thank you so much for the diff tip, I have three 1/14 RWD Sand Monsters and I suspect that the one that I picked up at a discount because of a blown motor had burned it because the older model's diff feels a lot less "chunky" than the newer edition with the burned motor.

I think the servos are the same size as the 1/16 WPL ones. So the metal gear JX or WPL one should work well as a replacement 👌

@@TomleyRC are they 5 wire I have a brand new wpl d12 one but its 3 wire I got excited for a second thought I could swap it out I will have to try order one or look for size of wpl one and order 5 wire in that size thanks phill also if u find out what shocks fit can u post a link or update video please

I had a brushed pinecone model. The car with the rollbar and segmented top. It always dropped signal randomly. It was never enough to cause issues driving, but was noticeable when it did happen. Jeesh, I would have loved to have know that the diffs could be loosened before I passed it on to a friend. It was a cool little RC, but it just handled weird. I bet the diff tweak would have fixed it. -.- Maybe I will spring for one again. Especially if I can get the mini cooper body or the lancia one. I got mine originally on amazon, but they dont seem to have any other versions other than the that black car I already had, and the hoon style truck.

I covertred a sg1604 from brushed to brushless. the cogging and lag is very very bad, hopefully a hobbywing esc will fix it. Yes the plastic diffs are also horrible.

Does this one have two modes for the gyro? One for drift and one that keeps it in a straight line and moves with the car to provide stability at high speed? Using a drift setting at high speed i would imagine would send it all over the place if thats what it is set on. (edit loking now doesn't seem so but I did watch a video on my binge back to the hobby where a guy was pressing the power button to activate a mode where you could select one light or two to switch between gyro settins (jsut reverses it i guess). Never seen any mention anywhere else and I can't find it now, so thought I'd mention it as a maybe).

Went for brushed, bit cheaper and its all i need loads of power i bet already. Just wanted to say we had a good remenisce as my bro was here earlier. Not sesen your channel and Im only new so we watched the Madcap Beatties bag video. Brought back a lot of memories of looking in my local model shop and drooling over the Hornet. And Beatties...their model section was only allowed to go near if you had parents with you! God we're old :D

With friction shocks, have you ever tried taking off the cap and putting a little glob of shock grease like green slime in them? I did it on my scx24 and it makes a big difference. They could be mistaken for oil filled shocks now.

The M Chassis is really nice.. but not 4wd option. These are a little smaller and quite a bit cheaper to get ‘on the road’

My son & I love these range of cars etc, he has the brushed sg1603 but we got a faster brushed motor and run better 2s in it. Has the oil dampers too. It’s a great truck and has taken a huge bashing and still going well. Even made a ramp last night and it was doing amazing jumps, really easy for him to master. As mentioned though twitchy on full speed so might change those links you have mentioned, thanks 🙏

we beat the living crap out of these things at the club and I'm surprised they are still running to be fair, they do need metal diffs though, not had any issue since I put them in. just dont try and use the gyro 🤣👍

They are great I got most of them also and just like you I'm still waiting for the Beatle it's only been nearly 2 months 🙄. I got the classic mini but Man that paint job is crap it really spoils it . Agree with the gyroscope I don't really like it also

Tengo en modelo 1605 y me resultó raro ver la construcción de las horquillas inferiores delanteras sobre el mango, esta horquilla se desgasta y el mango se sale por lo que la fuerza del resorte empuja y hacen contacto con las llantas. Pedi las piezas nuevas y al armar tendre que poner alguna grasa lubricante para evitar la fricción entre plásticos.

Car has tons of issues ... Worst of which is the extremely slow response lag on input controls. The plastic diffs strip out pretty quickly if u use the car for more than just one promotion run Steel diffs are a must. Oil shocks make a huge improvement. Be prepared to buy plenty of spare parts These are cheap good value but you only get what you pay for.
