They are definitely more skilled on average, particularly over the last decade. Although, one reason they also succeed is because the NBA is soft now. I love the Euro players, but their play-style is heavily favored with the modern NBA. A lot of them play very weak.

What Luka is talking about "easier to score in NBA than Europe" what he means in Europe you not allowed to travel,you not allowed to make 5 pump fakes before you release the ball while you in motion,you not allowed to double dribble and you also allowed to defend. Thats why players like Luka or Ginobili finds it so easy to score. NBA rules are just a joke,where everything you do on a field is tailored towards offense,and you cant do anything on defense,thats what Luka is talking about

That may be true about the rules, but the defensive athletic talent in the NBA is off the charts compared to Euroleague. I think there are other reasons Luka likes scoring in the NBA like faster pace, more ball movement, more athletic teammates, and a more robust coaching staff.

If that's true then why do NBA bums go to euroleague and revive their careers as stars there lmao. Defense today in the league has problems for sure but it's still far better than any other leagues defensively and if we compare today's D to previous NBA eras, they actually get stops at a similar rate to 80s and 90s teams, adjusted for pace. 80s teams have even given up just as many points for multiple years playing at a similar pace.

@@chipskylark1235 That usually only works for skilled but undersized or not athletic NBA players but they are a minority. Most of the american players who come to Europe fail. Actually, there are way more european players who succeed in NBA than american players who succed in Euroleague.
@chipskylark1235
@chipskylark1235 5 жыл бұрын
@@tomeullabres5288 the thing is NBA players that go there, go after the NBA kicks them out and their bodies can't handle the game as much. Legit euroleague MVPs have been mediocre players here or at best role players for a long time. Anthony parker, Rodriguez, de Colo, Bjelica ECT. I do believe Navarro, Fernandez, Llull, Teodosic, prigioni all could have been solid to good players but those are legit MVP Calibur players there. If the NBA and euroleague merged right now the new league would be a majority American and NBA players. The euro players already in the NBA would obviously stay but it wouldn't be that many euroleague players that get to stay.
@tomeullabres5288
@tomeullabres5288 5 жыл бұрын
@@chipskylark1235 Euroleague has raised its level a lot in recent years. Of course, not everybody is Luka but there are a lot of great players. Anyway, the reason Luka says that scoring its easier in the NBA it's because of the rules and the size of the court. In Europe deffensive 3 seconds don't exist and the court is smaller. These 2 things help a lot on defense and referees allow harder defense in Europe.

the problem with ben simmons is that he's ambidextrous to the point that it becomes a double-edged sword for him. he becomes an excellent ball-handler, he can drive right or to the left with ease and finish with the right and left with confidence. his post work is good too because he can finish with both hands but at the same time, because his ambidexterity is embedded in him, it becomes his habit to use both of his hands while shooting. sometimes he'll use left, sometimes he'll use right by instinct which makes his natural jumpshot really inconsistent. he really needs to rebuild his jumpshot by scratch but that would mean a lot of airballs, frustration, etc.

I don´t know man... great players make their team better and can carry them. Great players can prevent loosing... For me it starts to feel like Booker just has really great but empty stats. I´m not sure if this kid can make a good team better, or a mediocer team good... Therefore I dont think it matters if he stays or leave. Maybe hes the luckiest guy in the world because he got this huge deal because everywhere else he wouldn´t look so special.
@yourfriendlyneighborhoodsm4708
@yourfriendlyneighborhoodsm4708 5 жыл бұрын
JustLooseMe I call BS on that. Only like 4-5 players are good enough to really carry there team to relevance and even then, those teams aren’t the Suns. Basketball is a team sport remember?
@JustLooseMe
@JustLooseMe 5 жыл бұрын
@@yourfriendlyneighborhoodsm4708 yeah... I´m on the same page but... on Paper the team is better than 20 Wins per season... I was on the Booker bandwagon. But I dunno man. Something seems of with this team and with Booker. Look at guys like Doncic, Trae Young, Fox, Mitchell, heck even Ingram, Kuzma etc. etc. if theese guys play good their team wins or at least compete for wins. But Booker and the suns get destroyed from everyone and it doesn´t matter if he has a 30 point game or not. Yes it is the lack of team effort and all this but after 3 1/2 Seasons it feels weird to see him play well and gets crushed every time. It doesn´t look like tanking or something like that. It looks like theyre incapable of focusing on the game. And Booker can´t wake anybody up so he just does his thing and he looks great because no team in the NBA takes the suns serious. No team feels threatend by the suns so they are like "yeah have him his points, we don´t care, we´ll win anyway." I don´t know if there is some truth in what I say. It´s just a feeling thats growing over the last years.

Luka Doncic is killer in 4rth quarter close out and has all around skills as well while Ben Simmons cant shoot and just getting away with it because he is surrounded by shooters in sixers. Luka is the most exciting thing to happen in the NBA since the 2015-16 season (Steph's ridiculous MVP scoring, 73 wins and a blown 3-1 lead). He is also a huge All-star-snub. Maybe not an All-NBA-first-teamer, but a perfect All Star and fan favorite: historic rookie numbers Euro guy still 19 years old no crazy athleticism tons of game loves the most challenging moments like Kobe did You don't have to like him, but you can't deny that he's a refreshing new thing to have in the league.
