@@benson4820 I am not seeing how a difference of 5 dollars make the pricing ridiculous, but ok. If you like the design of the Titan more, sure, go for it. It's great starter too. Same goes for the Syulen. If you go by other criteria other than prefering the design, then there may very well be even more ships that provide equal or better value. But if you choose by personal taste, then the pricing is on point with most the other starter ships. At least in my opinion.

For me that has a c2, arrastra, polaris, c8r, zeus mr, f8, f7a all pledged this ship is a shuttle for me, its fast and can hold carge which makes it perfect for solo rep grind spamming bunkers for merc reputation. You'll be surprised how much time you waste with bigger slower ships doing the same thing. Fits perfect in my fleet.

I was using a C8R for bunkers but never used the med bed and always wanted more room for stuff. I had a Nomad but it’s not that fun to fly. I’m looking forward to trying the Intrepid.

I feel the cargo lifts are best used to hold pairs of 2 SCU containers to hold gear, rather than as an 8 SCU cargo ship.

I don't dislike this ship, however at the price point that they're asking, CIG should have just given it a single ballistic size five. The avenger Titan has a single size four, two size threes, and four larger missile launchers.

The question then becomes how to balance Interior space/QoL/luxury vs. mechanical gameplay mechanics/advantages. The Avenger is a little tube, while the Intrepid has this entire gorgeous living space, but how much is that worth when it doesn't provide a mechanical gameplay advantage? But if they make a ship with great habitation mechanically comparable to one without, then no one would get the one without.

I tried it yesterday for the first time in Phase 3 of save Stanton. I survived a S10 explosion in my face (only took down one shield face) and I helped me board an Idris and steal it. I’m keeping this baby :D

You can change the lights in each section from day to night mode and back at will. On the door panels. They can open the door from the inside of the cargo lift, but you can lock the cockpit door.

I love everything about this ship outside of the gimp shields and lack of firepower. I'd buy easily if it had 2 s1 shields and a s5 weapon. I just can't make it my daily driver. wish I had gotten the Avenger titan pack now lol

Having the cargo access doors makes it an even better Looting ship. I can keep a couple 2SCU boxes to bring into bunkers and from inside be able to access a box if i ever need to. Thats 1 advantage over the Nomad where you are separated from your cargo

For me its a perfect taxi - or dedicated looter. I took a bounty assassination mission. Flew to the caterpillar, nose down and killed the target and then mowed his friends down - levelled out and exit pilot seat. I lowered 1 cargo platform and tractored the dead bodies up and into the ship, raised the platform and stripped all their armor and gear off - interacted with the 2scu box i have stored on the other platform and fast scooped all the armor up - then lowered the ramp again and tossed the bodies out. I used to use a Nomad and then a Scout for that and it worked better than a Nomad for me - but still had to position the ship so that the back ramp is facing the bodies.. nice to be able to nose down, shoot then just level out and ready to loot without having to reposition the ship if doing 'Air Looting' If im ground looting i have two 2 scu crates ready to rock and when i tractor them onto the right platform and send it up - then i step on the left ramp and send myself up on the platform and im back inside the ship. The Intrepid is not Better than any of the other starters at any laser specific item -- but as a 'special ops' stealthy little ship perfect for 'mission X' .. or general use as a taxi with the HotRod sounding engines .. Love it

One of the things you want to look for in a starter is speed with the ability to carry a couple of boxes, this thing is rapid for blasting in and out of planet atmospheres. Nearly as fast as a Gladius but with all the extras. No doubt it's going to get nerfed after IAE sometime.

It makes a good 2nd ship for those wanting an expensive space camper; but I do not recommend it as a 'Starter Ship'. This is because it handles current game play poorly (combat, trading, bunker runs, etc), so you won't be able to enjoy/test the varied playstyles offered by Star Citizen with this ship. The starter package, however, is good for those who want to melt their current game package and upgrade the Intrepid to a mid-tier or higher ship, so that they have a base game package with an LTI non-starter ship.

I like the interior. And much appreciate CIG in at least still making a paint skin with the original Crusader colors: red and white. It'll always be my favorite. Templar knight colors. Now if they make the interior blue accents red when you apply said paint then they would really make my day.

Yeah, I've seen edits that make the Intrepid symmetrical and they look cooler and arguably better, but they look bland and generic. Ugly is better than generic.

7:23 Yes they can, there is a latch who can be pull inside the cargo area, incase you get stuck in.

The latch on the inside only lowers the cargo lift, you cannot open the cargo doors, it does not let you into the ship. If you want to use it as a second entry, you would have to board ship first, open the cargo doors then use lift to get out.

@@staticneuron Thats what i do when i use it for a bunker - looter. I open the inside cargo doors - then take ramp down, tractor beam a 2 scu box out to bring with me into the bunker - then when i return to the ship i lower a cargo deck, put the box on, raise it and now im back inside the ship

I picked one up and it is my 2nd starter ship , my other one is the Syulen. Gotta say I actually enjoy flying it and also love the interior layout, the sound of the ships engines and the changeable lighting is also cool. The other good thing is it is quick to enter and exit the ship, whereas the Syulen takes more time to get to the pilot seat.

When i started Star Citizen during a freely, everyone suggested I get the Titan. The Suylen was released, and being a past CMDR, I wanted something that isn't beginner mode, and it fit the bill. Is it more than the Titan? Yes. Is it better? Can't fit a vehicle, but I can just rent a cutter black. But the feel of it both in visual, control, and sound... it's still my favorite ship. I think that's what makes the Intrepid shine: it's the Titan ship for those who don't want a Titan. The colorful paint jobs that it has on offer complement this (Concierge gets black and gold... like, if that doesn't scream fancy, I don't know what does).

I would definitely love to see a bounty hunter version of this, just make one of the cargo areas a dedicated pod storage lift, give it a size 5 or maybe just an extra size 1/2 to go with the 4.

I didn't really think much of the design at first, but then saw a video with someone giving the interior tour and... it's actually awesome for a starter ship. It's got 8 SCU of cargo space, decent space for gear and it's spacious. I did try dogfighting with it and that one repeater is pretty sad, with I think 2 missiles. Honestly didn't think much of it, the battle I had was to bounty hunt a ground target, but for the life of me could not even take the shield down of one of the medium sized enemy craft. I just took my target out and left without attempting to even take down the enemy ship... but it's fast, responsive and I like it. The Crusader aesthetic is enough for me lol

I consider the titan more for people who are into the space combat, for that it's a good starter ship. This startership is more for the people who want that home away from home, but in startership format, people who like to do infantry combat or go out and explore on foot (once that's a thing) especailly since you have a suit locker so you can bring a heavier piece of armor once you can't get into seats with heavy armor anymore. So in that sense yes it doesn't have directly the same firepower, but it has many other advantages the titan doesn't have. People seem to forget that the game is supposed to have activities for in space, on foot, in vehicles, non-combat, the titan isn't everything. Otherwise why would we have medical ships? Just don't die? You don't hear people say "just get an M2 instead of a hull-C" because it has more firepower and tankiness, don't understand why people try to make that argument here.

For me the nomad is still the most practical starter ship- it holds up in a fight, allows you to do ROC mining, and its cargo capacity is the best of any starter. But I totally get people getting this ship if you just want to fly around a bit in style.

I love that everyone hates the ship. It's an amazing little bugger. It can hold so many more weapons than most starters. 2 big guns 3 regular guns 3 pistols or multitools. you cNlan easily drive a pulse into the cargo bay AND drive out.... one side you can store some 1 to 2 scu crates for clearing kopion caves and hand mining. Using a tobii, I love that my ad4b can gimball on my intrepid. Wonder if the Ares can gimball.

Now if the would move the cockpit to the middle, give it 4 S3 guns and some more missles with S2 compenents they would have a medium fighter. Take out the cargo and push the living quarters back to that space. Move entry door forward more towards the cockpit and it could all work. Would like Crusader to still make a small fighter as well.

I was really on the fence about this ship until I sat in it and took it out to do some low risk bounties. Once I was there, and I fired of my first salvo, everything clicked. Hearing the gun go off next to me put everything together and it made me want this ship, though I'll probably wait to buy it in game when it releases there.

my biggest gripe now with the intrepid is the missile payload is lacking. i wish they would have either made it 2 s2 missiles or gave it empty hard points like the arouras have so you can give her *just* a bit more potential for combat. s1 missiles are just so paltry that they aren’t really useful imo.

The little buddy can be a good taxi replacing aurora, it's interior is a good advantage over old Titan, but overall Titan is still the best value per money

It's not the asymmetry, it's the armaments and the cargo sizes vs the titan, along with the price. It's $5 US more than the Titan, with the same cargo capacity, and 2 less guns. it should have been $50, or it should have been the price it is, but with at least 2 more size 3's. I promise you if they slapped 2 size 3's on the wings everyone would be fine with it. The $5 would be justified due to the newer design.

It doesn't seem too bad, but if people are going to playing a free fly event, they should just go and get the Cutlass Black as a great all rounder. Beds, turrets and a co-pilot seat but small enough for a single person to control very well and only £150 too.

The looks are a quirk, but its mainly its comparison to other starter ships that's shooting it in the foot. It's too expensive for a ship that doesn't really compete or have good modules. Speed and range is good, but it's rather large a ship to only have a single s1 shield and low hp. Its cargo isn't great, it's weapons are poor. But I love its odd look ^^

i got a syulen and it's honestly a PoS but the game is already miserable enough of an experience so i at least want to play it with a ship i like looking at. the penguin is a snorefest, inside and out and i wouldn't get it even for free. the decrepit is fun looking at least. i wouldn't know what to do with it but the inside is like such a cozy home it already wins on that alone. it looks like actually worth decorating and preserving.

I don't know man. I just looked at the specs and the Titan beats the Intrepid in every way, at least on paper. The Titan is smaller and faster, and costs less. There's no real advantage for the Intrepid other than it's different.

titan is faster, cheaper, has more dps and can carry a vehicle. I would only suggest buying this if your a brand new player just starting and you would like a ship wit LTI.
