I love the fact that this song about not needing therapy was written by a guy who works as a therapist. It really shows that Jake truly understands that it’s about helping people. Therapy has it’s place and can help people but often some people just need someone to stop and listen and give them a shoulder to cry on and vent to. They don’t jeed to pay someone to psychoanalyze their brain or piece them back together just a friend to sit with them as they struggle. There is no one size fits all answer.

Jake seems to use his vocals as an audio metaphor for the rollercoaster of mental illnesses. Up and down, back and forth. A tug of war where sometimes you're flying and the next you're drowning and the calm in between can sometimes feel all too brief.

I don't know if tou notice the "medicine" for a second in the bridge, I only noticed it while watching your reaction and I think that it's an interesting say of showing that the meds don't always help, and are mostly a cash grab to keep you coming back

I love this song so much! Jake’s vocals is beautiful, the music is so catchy, and the lyrics video has some resembles a little bit of I’m Not Okay, which is my favorite song. Also fun fact, when Jake sings I don’t know why till the last line before the chorus is the pre-chorus. The 1st and 2nd verse is only has 2 lines. Thought that I let you know. Anyways, love your reaction and can’t wait for the You Are Enough reaction tomorrow. ❤❤❤

I love citizen soldier because their sonys are deep and emotional, but it don't have the sad background music that makes you cry. I love that i can listen to music while depressed and still feel, but it doesn't instantly make me more depressed but at the same time still feel like someone understands.

So, i have autism, and recently me and my art therapist have been listening to citizen soldier songs thinking of what the meaning is. Well she came to the conclusion that she thinks its about having a bad therapist. In the lyrics, it says 'I dont know why you try to fix me like i can be fixed over night' the therapist is just finding a solution to the problem but not listening and feeling with their patient.

Jake was for sure flexing his vocals in this song lol. The big bridge was definitely appreciated for me too. As a whole, I think this one is one of the weaker ones on the album. Obviously, some songs are gonna be peoples favorites while others don't care for it. It's not the weakest on the album for me, but it probably sits maybe just middle of the pack on this album imo.
