Really enjoy watching the process. Takes me back when Dad built our playhouse 55 years ago. Looking forward to see the rest of the cowshed go up. Yes, and now I want to go play in the leaves!

The leaves are falling from the tree's, as it does each Fall. Then Simeon rakes it up for play, a happy free for all. They run and jump and toss the leaves, then tumble to the ground. It is that time of year again with laughter all around. Then off he goes to build his shed with skill and energy, then post it up on KZbin for all of us to see! YAY!!! What a lovely scene Simeon, you family playing in the leaves was a joy, as well as seeing the cowshed going up. I was nine when my Dad began letting me help him build barns. At first I was only a step and fetch it, but it wasn't long before I held hammers and saws in my hands too. He too was a player in the leaves with his kids, and I cherish those memories of all of us kids and our life on the farm. (There were 7 of us kids.) I love the Fall it is one of my favorite times of the year. The air gets nippy, but the sight of the leaves turning and the smell in the air as the season changes never gets old. Thank you for yet another beautiful time on your farm.

"Ole to be young again-to jump in the leaves as we all did as a child again" What a wonderful sight to see the smiles and joy of your children sharing quality time with there dad. Danny tried his best to get to you and decided to throw the leaves up on himself. Aww so adorable. The shelter is coming along nicely. I hope you video the part of putting the roofing on for us to see. What a blessed life you have. May God continue to bless you and all your family and the farm too. God bless

I am remembering an earlier 3 sided cow shed. It was required by the government and inspected, but your cattle did not seem interested. This one seems to be closer to the house and other outbuildings. Interested in watching your construction of this new one, however.

Went right away to amazon but the saw is unavailable : ( 35 years ago when I bought my first 262xp (and instantly converted from being a Stihl user), I also bought 2 sizes of Sandvik handsaws, when nobody here really knew what Sandvik was yet. I still have them and they are still reasonably sharp. What I like about the Hultafors is the slight angle of the handle, which looks ergonomic, other than for cutting vertically. Hopefully amazon gets some to sell!

I went back today and found one for $41... but shipping is $30. I can’t justify $70 when I just spent $200 on a silky katanaboy 650 (check out THAT saw!). I’ll keep checking from time to time.

Good grief, that saw, and your talents, just worked those beams like a boss. Loved the opening with you and the children playing in the leaves. Takes me back to my own childhood. I know you took all things into consideration, but I was wondering if that was going to be enough room to accommodate all those horns? Prehaps the shelter space is larger than it appears.
@simeonandalex
@simeonandalex 5 жыл бұрын
It is quite big but the cattle can choose freely if they want to be inside or outside. According to Swedish law, this shelter will be big enough for 15 full grown cows.

you dont think those posts that you installed with 2 screws need secured better? all it will take is for 1500 lb cow bumping one and then the roof comes down. wont they also tear up the netting that you are going to cover the walls with?

I noticed in your last video that you were using a small square and a distance/depth gauge. I haven't ever seen them before. We have similar tools here in the US but larger. Could you tell me the brand names and tool info so that I could pursue purchasing for myself? Thanks very much. Keep up the good work.
