The most alpha male thing you can do in the foxhole is tell your brothers in arms you love them and then you trip over a Widowmaker and get nails in your peen
@creteoxford2032 жыл бұрын
A couple years ago, I told my friend I love you. And I told him we should say it because you never know when you'll die, and we joked about how many people actually don't say "I love you" to the people they love. I told him "you're my brother, and I love you." We started saying it more, and then it just became what you say, like when you get off the phone with your parents. My bro passed on Sunday, at the age of 35. The one thing I can find comfort in is; he never had to wonder how I felt, and I didn't have regret for never saying it. Tell people you love, that you love them. Fuck your ego.

Lost my dad 2 months ago to stage 4 cancer. I’m 31, he was 53. Chris you nailed what it truly feels like to miss someone. I’m really yearning to be with him. To just have a simple talk, a hug, a laugh. I just miss sharing a space with him. It’s torture on the hard days. I have a fear of forgetting what his voice sounds like. I miss him so much, I physically feel it in my heart. I love my dad so freaking much. I never thought I would write a comment like this one day.

Wow, I wish my husband would watch this. He’s away on deployment and we have struggled with his sobriety for 6 years now. This is exactly the love he is keeping himself from feeling and to hear it from other men I feel like would help but maybe not. I have been hoping for a Christmas miracle with him, we have 3 children 2,4 and 6 and he’s missing so much in their life. Thanks Chris and David for this in the very least it’s nice to hear masculine men speaking like this. Life is moments and moments are love ❤️

This has nothing to do with this podcast but I experienced something at work that is the embodiment of “Life Rips” and I had to share it. An old man came in to my work with a wheelchair and through talking I found out he had a leg amputated like a couple years ag. He was the jolliest man I have ever meant and was telling me how upset he was that the doctors didn’t give him his leg cause he wanted to make a lamp out of it. I can only hope I’m like that at that age or situation. That guy was living the Life Rips mentality and I was actually inspired by that guy.

"I have to be careful of playing a character in real life..all the time." Reminds me so much of what Jim Carrey has talked about. How it became so hard for anyone to see him as anything but one of his characters and it drove him insane. I love Jim and I've always seen you as this generation's Jim Carrey so it's no surprise to hear you mention somewhat similar feelings. I loved these episodes.

It's so interesting to see in the other video with David that the dynamic going on was that Chris felt like "less than" David. Unconsciously or consciously - but then in this one, Chris felt like he was able to be more vulnerable and honest with how he was feeling. I watch other people play this role around Chris in different podcasts where Chris will be the one holding space vs. how David was holding space for Chris here. I love seeing your growth Chris - and we all see it so keep going and thanks for being real and doing the work

Sooooo what does "cut your teeth in the club" mean? Chris says it at 21:26
@CrookDanny2 жыл бұрын
Cut your teeth is a term for honing your skills, also like “paying your dues” and “earning your stripes.” Performers need time in front of audiences, so to cut your teeth in clubs means to put the work in by performing at a lot of comedy clubs.

If you say that someone cut their teeth doing a particular thing, at a particular time, or in a particular place, you mean that that is how, when, or where they began their career and learned some of their skills.
