I don’t know why ppl are complaining about Dante’s performance. I thought his delivery was heartfelt and believable. Showed a lot more vulnerability and emotion than Jason (you know the greatest love of Sam’s life🙄) who only knows how to do that 30 yard stare into space. Jason has done this reaction for so long, which each death that was supposed to be significant in his life (Baby Lila, Alan, Emily) it just doesn’t ring true anymore. I expect for him to actually break down and cry, for the woman he supposedly loved so much

The one thing I loved about Sam above all else was her ability to outgrow Jason and put her children first. Jason always put Carly and Sonny before Sam. That would never change. I have always loved Dante. Sante was a lovely dream that ended way too soon.

I started watching GH when I was about 8 too and I'm not 54. I completely agree that for me it was and will always be Jason and Sam and it likely would have continued to be if Frank hadn't come in with a chip on his shoulder about the couple. There's a reason that Dante's goodbye to Sam was so brief while Jason’s was so gut-wrenching and incredibly meaningful. I have no doubt that Kelly will land on her feet. She's beautiful, and incredibly talented and she has a built-in loyal fan base that will follow her. The daytime execs at CBS and NBC would be idiots to not be crawling over each other to get to her first.

What a hard week. I wish it did not have to be Sam. I cried through everything. It's so awful. Thinking about the aftermath and fallout - it will be so harsh. The family will be broken up. Dante and all the children will suffer and be lost. Alexis will go crazy. Her sisters will freak out and who knows what will happen there. Sam's steady love and presence, which has been building up for such a long time and has been the foundation of so much good in so many ways, will leave a huge hole all across Port Charles.

What GH doesn't seem to understand is the fan frustration is not with the passing of a longtime character, that happens for the good of the storyline and addition of new directions. Fans are upset with the uncharacteristic and poorly crafted change of the character. Sam was a feisty, intelligent, scrappy, passionate character, for good and for bad, but the past few years, for no reason, the writers turned her into a wimpy, dingy, scared and boring character. Everyone saw it.....except the writers. How? Character transitions are what soaps are about and why fans watch soaps. We see our favorite, and not so favorite, characters get in trouble, grow, evolve, make mistakes, etc. But turning a smart woman into an idiot is not only wrong, it's unrealistic. I get new writers need to be brought in and junior writers need to learn the craft to evolve into senior writers. Given that, on a legacy show like General Hospital I think there needs to be sometime of requisite that writers of longtime and legacy characters have watched the show to understand the character and actor/actress playing the character. Many fans have watched for decades and know these characters better than their own family members.....so why don't the writers? Kelly Monaco deserved better and so did the fans.

She could have been adventurous in her career while being in the same location, home. Back in the day Robert had the best WSB office behind the wall in his house with Holly and they could have created a similar investigative talents with longterm stories.

Dominic, you brought me to tears. Dante and Sam were a beautiful love story. They deserve their montage too. Drew with Carly. Best chemistry he’s had since they broke up! It’s a damn shame the writers destroyed “another beautiful love story” I did not care for the direction of Alexis telling Kristina and Molly. Their arguing deserved a scream from Alexis telling them they’re all that’s left of Sam. I would’ve wrote it differently with a door slam. Both daughters need to grow up. Laura’s “is it lulu?” Felt out of place. And Jason being the one to tell both Scout and Danny that Sam passed felt wrong. It should’ve been Dante because he’s been RAISINGVTHEM. The Robert Holly flashbacks did not solidify as to establishing Sasha as their child. It just felt gimmicky. Portia best come up with something better than “the autopsy” Dante and Sam were robbed- Scout and Danny should’ve been allowed to see their Mom before going trick or treating- more impactful if they allowed it. Dante loved Sam. Like I said, a show deserves one stable couple. Now there’s none.

And for tptb to cut a vet for 20 yrs for a recast to build a love story around Dante without knowing if they’ll work on camera- Slaps the audience in the face. Laura is too wrapped up into her own issues - It’s the same self centeredness Kristina and Molly displayed. That’s why Alexis had no scenes with Laura except during surgery- Laura needs reverse engineering.
