On the topic of stealth that was mentioned in the opening invasion, I actually still use stealth to get critical backstabs on the larger threats even now at almost level 300 purely because I'm a tactical gamer at heart that loves to take advantage of any stealth opportunity I get. Even moreso in a game genre that doesn't usually provide them, such as soulsbornes and souls-likes. Like I'm an Assassin's Creed, Ghost Recon, and Splinter Cell kind of gamer at heart when it comes to my action games.

Anything goes for invasions. For duels... yeah... if you're in range for any dragon breath spell, you will get hit. It's impossible to dodge and can inflict rot or frost

I like stealth. Thief ring is op in Demon's. Invisibility is op in DS1, 3, Bloodborne, and Elden ring. Archery is the best alternative in Ds2.
