A tip for your future challenges: you don't actually need to do the three assassinations for rykard. You can just get to the end of the zone where there's a warpgate which will take you to his boss room. It's situated behind the snake throneroom, close to the stonesword imp door. hey im sure you wont see this but a quick note: i did a bow only run myself and what i did was instead of normal attacking, i jump attacked almost all the time, because the animation is faster and with the claw talisman it makes all fights waaay quicker

I did bow-only without a guide until Radagon...then found out that shortbows have a jump + land attack and longbows don't. I used a longbow the whole game until that point because of the longer reach. Radagon is so goddamn hard with longbows. I switched to a shortbow and it was still challenging, but reasonable because of exactly that, the landing attack gives you much more damage and lets you circumvent his parry. With longbow you would shoot, get parried, and roll, or shoot again and trade. Wish I knew about the blackbow. Also on the note of fighting humanoids, jump attack is mostly consistent as opposed to spamming barrage or just praying, but you do have to wait for them to attack and jump back to shoot and dodge

For Mohg's Fight you can actually neutralize the damage you take from the Three two one attack that he does. It's one of the pearls for the mixed physick called "Purifying Crystal Tear" Which reads as following "Purifies the Lord of Blood's curse in a mixed Physick ^-^ at that point he just stands still while you only lose 1 hp for each stack that pops

For future reference there’s a teleporter to rykard that lets you fight him without doing the volcano manor questline, the path to it is hidden out a window on the top floor of the church of eiglay

He can also use the abductor to teleport underneeth it and then jump over to the cage and head up, or when grabbing the quest go through the hidden pathway insteed of the doing the quest

Really good run! I've got a great tip for Godfrey & Hoarah Loux though: Literally every stomp or slam AoE can be easily avoided by jumping, and can be baited by keeping distance in the 1st phase (he'll dash towards you and start with a stomp). This way 50% of the fight will be stomps, which you can consistently counter with jump shots, then roll away from the follow up attack to keep your distance - bait a stomp - repeat. Use barrage when he's idling. You just get openings everywhere if you use the jump shot. I've had problems doing this fight melee, and now the bow is pretty much my go-to when it comes to this fight

For longbows (bows), it’s much easier to avoid being hit by shooting while jumping backwards. Doesn’t get you locked into the animation and creates some distance. I’ve been running bow since I started. Love it in this game.

2 things: 1: There's a physique that super nerfs Mohg's super attack in a church in Altus Plateau that you get for defeating an invader, Bloody Finger Eleonora. 2: You don't need to do the assassinations to get to Rykard, there's a Magic Portal in Volcano Manor that teleports you straight there. As someone who has been using a bow build for a few weeks now. The most interesting thing i have figured out is that the spear talisman works on bows. If you hit them during their attack you do extra damage. This talisman increases that by quite abit.

for anyone thinking about this as a run to try on their own: Its easier then it sounds, bows and some skill make alot of the game really, really easy. Some tips: 1: Arrows Sting is BETTER then arrows reach, but you should be using both. Arrows reach increases the distance before your damage drops off, sure, but bow builds like this are not always going to be able to choose their range. Whereas sting outright boosts base damage. 2: The ONLY bows you need are the composite shortbow, which you can buy for 3500 runes from the merchant right past entrance to liurnia (which you can skip to by heading north from the stormhill shack) and the black bow, which you can acquire in the capitol. The composite bow is a shortbow... this means it has the best moveset (ie quick fire from jump attacks, and quick fire from rolls) and can be fired from full gallop on torrent without slowing down. The black bow, has longbow damage and range with shortbow quickfire from jumps and rolls, PLUS it has access to barrage and is only worse then the composite bow in terms of horseback utility as using it on torrent will slow you down. Mighty shot is certainly a strong ability, but barrage has better dps at a fraction of the fp cost. And enchanted shot is arguably more useful then mighty shot. Until you get access to the capitol, however, the shortbow is your best option in terms of moveset. 3: You can get immediate access to mt gelmir without fighting any bosses by sprinting through fort faroth for the medallion half, and using the ladder. The bats wont be able to aggro or kill you in time, so as long as your'e fastish, so its not pixel perfect routing. The other half is in fort haight, but the blood knight isnt hard to kill with a shortbow so.... your choice, really. 4: You can get 1-9 somber stones before fighting ANY bosses, so long as you have a modicum of skill at jumping. Funnily enough, though, without wrong warps or skips there is only the 1 somber stone 7, but a handful of 8s or 9s. 5: You need, need NEED access to the mohgwyn crow farm as soon as possible, purely to make arrow farming efficient. I also recommend killing all the special arrow vendors (you can keep Kale alive, since most vendors sell base arrows), and also killing the Bell Bearing Hunter at the warmasters shack at night for the bone bell bearing. Doing this expedites your ability to accrue arrows. 6: If you dont want to bleed everything to death (which is less efficient because arcane doesnt effect arrow status buildup), fire arrows are the least resisted damage arrow in the game and have some solid damage. There are similar options for damage, but its best to look up boss weaknesses and choose the element arrow of choice. 7: Poison arrows suck dig bick. Your better off locating the rotbone arrows, and spending time chasing butterflies in the swamp. The ONLY time I would recommend poison arrows at all, is if you use the Serpent Bow against my recommendations. Serpent bow with poison arrows, unimproved (even with its broken arcane scaling which DOESNT WORK, btw) can two hit poison things, one hit if you use its mighty shot due to its unique interactions with poison infused arrows. Serpent bow is good for poison, and nothing else. And arguably, its not even worth it because you can just get similar results with the pulley bow, without the restrictions. 8:You will want to use a defensive talisman. I would recommend either the green turtle talisman if you trust your dodges, because of how stamina hungry short bows and the black bow can be, or doing some parkour at the bestial sanctum to get the dragoncrest talisman.

I think Pts only could be doable. Some of them are pretty dope. I'd run a faith build with support spells and use the pots that scale with faith for damage.

12 Pots with Good FTH and INT using just Fire Pots in which has the least amount of Resistance moat bosses have can demolish them. It's actually strong and the fact that you can just craft on the fly is nuts and only impeded by mats which can be farmed or picked up mostly. That's not including the obscene amount of physical throwable consumables which some scales to DEX and INT which makes Larval Tear very useful. Fact that you can sell boss souls or item loots for some sold consumables also helps the run. Though Pot Build requires setup like the Pot Head Helm and Proper Talismans.
