Spoiler As someone who suffered through three miscarriages and almost died with the last one, I am glad that this story is told from the father’s point of view. One memory that is forever in my mind is my husband holding the tiny little body in the palm of his hand with sorrow on his face. Sometimes, it seems as if the rest of the world forgets that three little lives are gone, but my husband and I remember. We are blessed with two living children. They are full of energy and sass. Thanks so much for this story.

My sister-in-law is in the middle of a risky pregnancy, and earlier this year she suffered a miscarriage. The whole family was devastated. I still cry about it every once in a while. We loved that poor baby boy. As much as it hurts me as an aunt, I know that my brother and his wife are exponentially more pained. My heart breaks for you, your husband, and your family

In the end, this story truly resonated because it said so much about the human condition regarding love, affection, and commitment - something we don't have enough of in our real world. I had first listened to this story about Catfish soon after it dropped. Once again, I saw it earlier today and decided to give it yet another listen because it is a story that actually emotionally touched me and made me care about Catfish's unfolding life story.

@vanessaashford9203 Жыл бұрын
I've always liked the almost Miyazaki-like elements of the setting of this story, like the anthropomorphized nature spirits of the bayou that just occasionally pop into the human world for stuff like some fried fish (almost seems like borderline cannibalism on Catfish's part, but I suppose it is consistent with the diet of actual catfish, considering they're scavengers that will pretty much eat any other dead fish they can find, even their own kind, and since he's more anthropomorphic, it makes sense that'd translate into liking cooked fish). It's not something you see in a lot of horror stories, which often portray even nature spirits as universally malicious and hostile to humans it seems like, especially those associated with environments that are less hospitable to humans like swamplands, so it's fun to see a world where there are both good and bad ones living together.

Jordan. Loved the story. Beautiful, bittersweet ending to it, that tugs at the jeart strings, while sending a chill down your spine. Mainly from with your excellent narration. As a stepfather, who lost one before even knowing she was pregnant, who found out he is sterile, after the same accident that ended their lives, it made me do something I have never done. Pause and reflect on why I made the choice I did, 22 years ago. To some extent, anyone who has lost one, never having met them, wife and I lost one of our daughter's friends, who lived with us for a few years on 2018 as well, that loss is always a factor. It makes you more protective of every child around you, fiercely so, when they are part of your complete Family. And losing one is as close to Hell as any parent can get. It fuels your nightmares the rest of your life. But rhar alone should never be the only reason you ask mom, or dad, and their child. Perfect message in that ending.

I really like this channel but, why when people read stories set in Louisiana do they make the characters sound so dumb? I'm from Louisiana and the majority of us here do not speak that way. I do like the story though! Oh yeah, and it's "crawfish" not crawdad. Always.
@JordanGrupe Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry that was not my intention. I apologize if it came off that way. I'm very amateur in terms of my voice work and I've only really been doing this for six months or so. I'm always appreciative for the feedback and now I know that's something I have to work on to make it more authentic!
@mistydevillier2197 Жыл бұрын
@JordanGrupe you've really only been doing this for 6 months? I assumed it had been years. I thought the voices in other stories were quite well done. Especially the "I inherited a haunted mansion" one. That's one of my favorites. Well I'm glad to hear you weren't intentionally trying to make us sound a certain way. Most everyone else does. Keep the long stories coming!!

@lmclelland2172 Жыл бұрын
I will be honest, the more I thought about it the more I hated this story, because of the fact of the deer fell in love with the guy that raped his sister I get that it was meant to be a psychological torture for the other person, but yet in the aspect of the sister, think about how that falls I don’t remember if he killed her or not, but regardless, it would’ve been better to just mutilate and dump him in the swamp because then the person had to deal with murder opposed to loving a rapist and not just a rapist, someone who raped and hurt his family
@Victoria-uo8rg Жыл бұрын
He didn't marry the rapist he married the lawyer that helped the rapist get out of jail to later do that to the sister. But when the layer realized that the guy was guilty he quit his job but that wasn't enough for the brother so he ended up marrying him to ruin his life
