Being a Christian, and talking to the pastors at my church, this type of stuff is just kinda normal, maybe not the choruses of voices or weird basements, but shaking doors, locked doors that open themselves, ghosts and everything in between can be found at churches. There is a lot of spiritual warfare that occurs in one spot, so for there to be such things makes sense.

@gp33music415 ай бұрын
@@TY_Tianyou I mean, Satan himself walked up to Jesus in the wilderness so it's not unreasonable to assume that a mortal priest or pastor wouldn't be a big deterrent by themselves. Oftentimes, demons are turned away by references to Scripture and a strong faith, rather than office or character.

Technically, burning incense is just the medieval equivalent of spraying air freshener 🤔
@gavinkurn5 ай бұрын
I think you’re right ?
@demiyenh44065 ай бұрын
There is a spiritual and religious aspect to burning incense. Yes, it smells good, but there is incense that are specifically created with herbs and oils that hold religious and spiritual properties. It's closely related to pagan culture. Like most of Christianity's customs, they were either entire copied or heavily inspired by pagan rituals and ideologies.
@Acetyl535 ай бұрын
Definitely not. Air fresheners aren't even remotely comparable, and most of the fragrances used are manufactured from petrochemicals and aerolized in equally toxic lipid carriers which makes it stick to everything. Incense is mainly just freeing decarboxylated VOCs and to an extent partial combustion byproducts. There is also the ritual and energetic character of the state created in the mind by the act itself.

@@demiyenh4406true this happened less because of the church and more to do with Kings and Jarls converting to Christianity and wanting to bring the people under their rule more in line with their new "beliefs" without risking an uprising. Sadly because of this Christianity lost its own holidays it did have like Festival of Booths, Feast of the Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Ascension Day, an All Saints Day.

Imagine getting divine vindication in Christianity being real and immediately being concerned with money
@Acetyl535 ай бұрын
This is what is meant by pearls before swine, or obfuscating spiritual truths in the language or numbers and symbols so they can't be grasped by the profane. I myself ignored and failed to heed divine interventions and signs that I had asked for, and it only became undeniable in retrospect. Something which I'm still disappointed in myself for. This disappointment seems to shut the door to that basis as well.

As someone who lives in South Georgia I gotta say, this person was definitely confusing us with Louisiana or Florida. There is very, very little swampy region in Georgia and what is considered swamp still dries out at least once during the summer and again for most of the winter. Edit: the Tri-County area described around the 21 minute mark is roughly 15 minutes away from where I live. Nothing around here is swamp at all. Again, very little rural swamp land in Georgia

Not a native English speaker here, but where exactly is the "bashing" or even "satire" in here? Just because it`s a ghost story taking place in a church? Though on the other hand..."why not bitching about Islam either?" whataboutism and "us poor Christians, everybody is allowed to bring us down" complaints... well, sounds like the department who seems to discover an insult to their faith in _everything_ . 🥱🥱🥱
