I’m a van dad now… Our NEW 2023 Toyota Sienna 25th Anniversary Edition!

In this video I showcase our new 2023 Toyota Sienna XSE 25th Anniversary Edition. I hate to admit it but… I think I’m in love! Haha this van is incredible. Much more practical than the 2023 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro we had previously. My wife is super excited to have the minivan… it’ll be perfect for the kiddos. With cargo space for strollers too!
Can’t complain about the 36mpg either! =]
What are your thoughts? Should I have gotten the Honda Odyssey instead?

Yeah, I don’t need the space of a compact SUV much less a Minivan but would always choose the later over the former or any SUV/truck for a practical, good driving daily driver. Just the two of us plus a small dog so a compact hatch, NOT a crossover, does it for us.

We have a Honda Odyssey and my friends used to tease me until they saw me haul home a ton of building materials including 4x8 sheets of plywood. They are superior to a pick up as they keep stuff you are hauling out of the weather.

We have a 22 Sienna Platinum and we love it. Never thought I’d be seen driving a van as I have performance vehicles (whippled raptor, FJ Cruiser, etc) but it’s sooo worth it with kids.

Yes! You did a perfect choice, I'm 62 year old male. And I'm gonna get one too, you know you can set the thermostat on heat or AC, and lay down and sleep as the engine will only kick in when battery gets low recharging system then engine turns back off, wow, so nice if you camp where you are in total comfort. Remember Toyota has over 25 years in hybrid technology. So I'm sold on this beauty. Enjoy friend 😊

I have a sienna too and its the perfect vehicle with kids specially on long drives. Full recline to sleep on every seat, lots of leg space that they can strech, large space at the back for luggage. Its also very useful to pick up stuff from home depot, lots of cargo space.

I drive 2012 lifted tundra rock warrior 12mpg lol. I am geeking out about this van, ultimate road trip vehicle. I tried to convince my wife to get one and she said "why don't you trade your pickup" 🤪 You my friend have my taste in cars but you are the one who can afford to own them, good job.

Great choice. I was resistant to getting a mini van but my wife, my smarter half, convinced me that it would be worth it. She was right. We had many memorable family trips in our minivan. They’re really roomy and comfortable. On road trips I’d hop in the second row, drop the window shades, recline the seat, and watch a movie on the tv.

It's a life stage vehicle and you got the "Cadillac" of minivans. For over 20 years I did that with the Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna. Now I have a Grand Highlander. Enjoy your new vehicle!

It took us way too long to get a sienna. But once we did we were blown away how useful it really was. Before I got my tacoma I hauled Full length lumber, a 20x15 sheet of laminate flooring, a full size chest of drawers, not to mention 4 kids and enough luggage for 6 people on a week long snow trip or beach trip comfortably. They are actually amazing. That being said I still can't wait for the Grand Highlander. I'm saving up my pennies for that now.

So you wanna choose a Grand Highlander over a Sienna? The price tag on that Grand Highlander will be high I assume. And I'm not even sure with those cars if to go with the hybrid version or the regular one.

@Jose I personally would. We have a 12 sienna now. We had an 08 highlander before that. I really like things about both, so the grand highlander with awd seems perfect. Having worked at Toyota I'm a Toyota fan boy but from the measurements the new Honda pilot seems like it will fit my needs better. It's bigger and because it's already out I was able to test drive one. I like the n/a 3.5 over the 4cyl too. But I like Toyotas customer service. So many choices lol

@@Tactical_Pterodactyl_Knives So the new Grand Highlander will match the Honda Pilot in size? I just took a look at the Highlander, but I didn't like the space it offered in the third row. I also wanted to hold out a little longer before I buy. But if it'll be a lot more I might go with Honda. I'm seriously not sure if I should go with hybrid or not. I like the easy maintenance of non hybrid, but gas prices can get insane and the gas mileage isn't all that great.

@Jose yeah the highlander beats the pilot by far in gas mileage. But with space they are very close. The plot is a little over 21 cubic feet, the highlander will be about 19-20 from what I've seen. But total cubic feet for the pilot is 113, vs only 97 for the grand highlander. I sat in and drove the pilot and the center section between the middle seats is quite a few inches wider. It feels very roomy. I'm torn too because it's for my wife. I've heard the new highlander is supposed to come out around the middle of April so along with the new tacoma. Not sure if that's true or not. Based on solely customer service I'd go with Toyota. But again I'm a Toyota fan boy. We've had a tc, highlander, sienna, and I have a tacoma. But I had a 97 civic for 16 years and the wife had a delsol and crv so we both go back and forth between the two.

I like the spacing of the Pilot and I think you can fold the seats down completely flat. I take my family camping at times, so the space works out quite well. Honda is supposedly also the best at manufacturing engines and they manufacture their own. However, Toyota is still said to be more reliable and I have also owned Toyotas before. I haven't had that experience with Ford and would like to stay away from those brands. Some people have been switching to Kia for the Telluride bc of their super long warranty features, but I'd still like to stick with Toyota. Honda would be a backup in case the pricing is too high on the Highlander. I am also holding on to older cars at this point and don't want to pay above mrsp either

Very nice van. I swapped LED bulbs in the interior (except for the map lights, which I believe are soldered on) and got a tri-fold trunk liner from the dealer. I highly recommend getting one. When it's not in use, you can fold it and leave it in the back well when the seats are up. I love the color of yours. Especially with the black wheels. Enjoy your new car!

@@UntamedMotors I think the Sienna has the elec motor out back which provides power to the rear, no? So that makes it an AWD. That’s how Toyota does it with the RAV4. It’s FWD with stock 4 cyl, and AWD when u get hybrid.

As a kid I was carted around in one of the originals, a 1984 Dodge Caravan, brand new. The hype was real back then for the innovation, and its fun to see one today and compare how far the mini vans have come, to something like this hybrid Sienna. The 84 Caravan did get close to 30mpg with the 4cylinder, although with half the horsepower.

have 2022 xse - fold the third row down, slide the second row all the way to the back. you have incredible space in the middle. I no longer put the kid in the car seat when standing outside. I can go into the van and do it. If that is your first hybrid try to learn how to hypermile it. I've been driving a hybrid for 12 years. I can get 45 mpg driving in the city. My van is an e-4WD and the rear motor really helps to stop the vehicle and charge up the battery faster.

Really wanted a Sienna but couldn’t find one and the wait was crazy. 3rd kiddo is on the way and ended up going with a 23 odyssey Sport. Significantly cheaper at 42k and no markup. Less room and not as many bells and whistles but does the job. 🤷🏻‍♂️ But I got my 22 Tundra Limited, so life is good.

U made right choice choosing the Sienna over the Odessy. The Sienna has a timing chain vs a belt in the Odessy and u don't have to worry about changing the belt. That's actually a cool lookn vehicle. Who cares if it's a minivan, they drive awesome n ppl love it too, they just don't want to admit it. They drive great, got one as a rental down to FL from WI

I have dogs. So when I rent a car, I try to get a minivan to carry gear and the dogs. They are awesome. I’d get one in white or silver with black wheels, upgrade the audio, maybe a tune. Blacked out sienna is badass! It’s cool to drive one now. 👍

I'm a minivan dad since high school. Not sure why but I always like minivan and large SUV, while most of my friends are driving sport cars. I got a used minivan, when it come to road trip nothing beat a minivan. That said, I do like Toyota Sienna for their AWD and the recent hybrid model. I prefer Honda Odyssey, it's a better interior build that aim toward minivan buyers. I do hope someday Honda will come out with AWD and Hybrid.

@Untamed Motors Thanks. I have a truck with a insulateddog house in the back. When we travel, the dogs goes in their house. The luggage in a weather proof bag so we can be comfortable in the front. But having a sienna I can just put everything inside without worrying about the weather and have a dog kennel as well.
