As a neurodivergent, I related so hard to this scene. This is exactly what masking feels like. You're basically adjusting yourself to fit into a world that does not accommodate for you and sometimes that can be exhausting.

There was an X-Men comic once where Quicksilver explained his powers the exact same way they are shown here - total incapability of turning off super speed and just having to live in a world that's moving way too slow, dumbing yourself down to seem normal.

Like- similar to the characters- it makes me FEEL so many things, so much dread (in the pit of my stomach), while at the same time NOT being able to exactly put my finger on WHAT it is. The way it paused at the moment he said "You're just faaaaaaa" I was worried he was about to say "fat" and he just f-ed up royally. Was that just me? I enjoyed the show very much. I hope we will see more. I kept thinking of the idea that if a black giant existed in US right now, how scared the parents might be. It wouldn't matter how innocent of a child they may be, you will always have people (Like Kim Potter) who will see them as intimating simply for the color of their skin, and size. All of that is systemic before we get into some of the real root causes we get into at the end of the season. Another interesting project from Boots Riley!

This show was a pretty good watch. I wouldn't say it was superb but pretty good. Flora's backstory was very intriguing though. Thanks, Nine for breaking that down. From her perspective, that must be hell on earth. Never thought to think of "super speed" from the perspective of the "speedster."

I wish more people were talking about this. Im a Virgo and I'll be honest I don't often watch new series unless something about them make me curious. I guess I watched maybe like other Virgos just to see like what it was about. I mean I went in not knowing anything lol And what I found was the most unique, odd, creative, werid, fascinating, powerful, sad but happy, truly brilliant message throughout and especially the end that was the most powerful thing that I've possibly ever seen except maybe and I'm not comparing but one of the first episodes of Mr Robot the F society scene with his therapist I think was actually the highlight of the whole show. The 7th episode of this is right up there with that one if not even higher up .its one of those times your sitting there just curiously watching something and you realize you just saw something that will only be known to a cult like following because its so raw and real that many will never understand it. But I do hope the ones who do keep sharing it even if people think your crazy.. because everyone that can get it... needs that final episode of this first season and to *get it* and then pass that on in ways others maybe that can't deal with the extreme out of the box creativity of this show in ways that lend to future generations having more people who get it then don't.

It was brilliant writing, storytelling, and directing,. It is delightful, insightful, innovative, surprising, and one of the most thoughtful comedies around. Like Gulliver's Travels, by Johnathan Swift, it plays with satire, fantasy, and parody. The political, social, literary, and historical parallels are uncanny. Loved it. Where is season 2, and then 3,4, and 5 . . .I give it 5 stars. It deserves first-rate reviews.
