I'm so confused I watch this episode 2x's I don't see the part where the lady was giving him a hard time in the airport but when this episode 1st came out I remember seeing the lady giving him a hard time in the airport, but that seen is nowhere to be found

One of the wildest parts of living in Atlanta while watching Atlanta is seeing the real places, and I think esp after season 3 I was so not expecting to recognize places that Al going to a funeral next at the event space/canvassing spot I used to work at was Wild!

But I also think there's a lot to be said around Earn and Van escaping Atlantic Station and popping out in East Point, not really sure how to articulate that but the unreality of Atlantic station is so real

I gotta say I’m loving these Atlanta videos, I’ve watched the show 6 times and feel I’ve existed in this world my whole life. I think it’s a masterpiece up there with the wire and if you are the appropriate audience it’s better than breaking bad and sopranos. Both shows delve into the black mental state and existence from different stances. The wire shows how it’s all rigged and it’s incredibly difficult to survive when the chips are stacked against you. Atlanta is more about survival mentality in a more Afro surreal stance littered with comedic moments to lighten the tone and ask interesting questions (ie Liam neeson episode).

The Darius Jollof comments actually have a further meaning. West Africans have argued on the origins of Africas most famous rice. The Senegalese were the creators but Nigerians and Ghanaians have argued over who makes the best version. This beef has been ongoing long before any gang beef in the USA. Darius is Nigerian so when she says Ghanaian he queries her source and is furtive in movement because it’s as much an affront as racing a red bandana on blue turf

I don't think he meant that Judge Judy was always on in his dreams. I think he meant that no matter the time of the day Judge Judy is on tv on some channel, therefore always available to check if he needs to. Spinning top wouldn't work if you couldn't access it all the time.

Also in the episode “Work Ethic!” There’s a scene where Van throws hot grits on Mr. Chocolate that’s a Easter egg to the Tyler Perry movie Madea's Family Reunion where the character Lisa throws hot grits on Carlos

I think you missed the mark with a few of these. One being the girl being happy the next day. I think this shows two things. 1. being the mood swings of a teenager and 2. being that tomorrow can always be a brighter day (suicide isn't the answer for lack of a better phrase).
I just discover this channel. Great job. I'm from Italy, just finsh Atlanta and I love it

I like to believe that old Fontaine is actually a clone of tyrone but has a different trigger word as he was the initial clone of tyrone if he was older and wasn't raised in the ghetto that's why he studies the geology of people and the movie is named they cloned tyrone

When I saw that one episode that had "the girl in class was happy now" I didn't think that her being happy had anything to do with that other kids suicide. I though that the point of it was to show how some horrible terrible thing can happen but at the same time someone else is having the best day of their life

About the girl in class who came in happy the day after the kid died, I just kind of took that as a sign that this kid has an obvious disorder. Sometimes she's depressed and sometimes she feels great. She's got bipolar or something and she's not getting the help she needs and the teacher can't do anything about it. So having her come in all happy without reading the room kind of felt like "That kid died, and here's ANOTHER kid with severe emotional issues that no one is flagging."

War of God might be a sly reference to Ruthless, Tyler Perry's show about a religious cult. Also, Tyler's response to this episode was a throwaway line in one of his other shows: "I'm trying to watch this stupid ass show Atlanta. I don't know how anyone likes it. Must be for white people."
