This so called antiques expert baffles me. I am not an expert but knew there is no way someone would pay 150 quid for each of those junk cabinets. Secondly, he shouldn’t have sold those cameras at a general local auction but rather online or physical auction specializing in people interested in collecting cameras. How much petrol does he spent to sell a book for a fiver.

This is not a show "make me money", it's a show to make people get rid of hoard. If the owner of the things wants more money he would have to do it himself.

Hoarding is a form of OCD. Usually hoarders accumulate stuff to fill up a void they feel due to past traumas.

Hoarding both relieves anxiety and generates it. The more hoarders accumulate, the more insulated they feel from the world and its dangers.

@@jess1987 I understand. I was raised by a hoarder half my childhood and when I got my first apartment she kept giving me stuff and even had plans for the things she was bringing that I didn't want here. I eventually went no contact when I realized she never told me "I love you" or "I miss you." All I got was emotional manipulation. She couldn't own her own feelings and projected it onto me so she didn't have to look at herself. No thanks. I have enough problems of my own. It can wreck havoc on families or relationships. I'm so sorry for your experience but I'm glad you learned from the experience. I hope it hasn't had a lasting emotional impact on you but understand if it has.

As a photographer, and can say, that just because a camera is old and in good condition, doesn't make it valuable. Very few of these, has good value. They are much better kept in a collection. Like a small museum.

Why did they sell the cameras as a whole lot when he has seen the one camera go for 150?
@AL-bv7jt
@AL-bv7jt 2 жыл бұрын
It’s probably a quicker, easier sell if they’re all in a lot. He might’ve gotten $150 for the one camera but it might take a month to sell and the others might’ve sat and not sold. Better to get rid of the cameras as a lot using the one expensive camera to attract a buyer than take time to sell them, giving him time to reconsider.
