I love the red couch and pink radio. I love this series. I just stumbled onto it. I used to watch Storage Wars (in the USA) but there's too much drama. This is actually fun and interesting.

I find it so adorable hearing a French accent intermingling with the British accent version of English, it's so cool. Reminds me of the mix of when my Scottish Father, with his thick accent, would speak Spanish, he learned from living in Panama for many years :)

The French woman reminds me of how I've been in the past. I still have tins I keep smaller items in, and I keep things tidy. I'm not as exteme a sentimentalist as I used to be, and over the years I have got rid of lots of clutter. Even now, I continue to find things I have no need for.

I don't think it is a bad thing if she kept that notebook with memories from her youth. I got rid of my early diaries and poems and could kick myself now. I had actually been published in a few magazines too but the harassment I got from my family caused me to destroy what I had to avoid the ridicule at home. Somethings have value only to you. Keep them but let go of the replaceable stuff.

Having a music collection and moved house into storage for one year- do not hoarders make. Precious few people on this show are within ten miles of being real hoarders.

If you have a storage unit away from your primary residence you have too much clutter.

It's interesting that the British hoarders always seem to want to spend the sales proceeds on trips. I would think that with the spending required to accumulate all these things, they would have debts to pay off.

Brit's are always looking to travel.
@jokl893 жыл бұрын
Often it doesn’t take any money to accumulate things. My China was my great-grandmas, my cabinet, lamp, glasses, curtains, some clothes are from my grandma, another cabinet, table, chairs, more clothes from my parents, binders full of papers and many books from my various studies, a lot of clothes from friends, presents, photo albums and postcards from friends and family I got over the years.. it really adds up. I don’t spent a lot, but I have a lot. And I find it very difficult to part with thinks people put thoughts in or are an inheritance. I’m getting better and I’m no hoarder, but those are tough decisions.
@thycaltrist2 жыл бұрын
@@jokl89 I 100% understand you. I'm no hoarder and in fact don't buy many things, but my family does and so I have a lot of stuff. It's harder to part with things given than my own stuff, which is mostly practical use, but I made the decision to do so as I feel my quality of life improving with less things. Lost count of the amount of sacks and boxes I've got rid of.

I don’t have ANYTHING from my childhood. It hurts my heart.
@Kate.West.4 жыл бұрын
Carole Ann Davis Hi Carol, you have the memories from your childhood (which I think are the most important things). If you have family members or friends from that time, maybe try reminiscing about those times, or even try and reconnect with people from that time..... I made contact with people from school I hadn’t spoken to for 20 years, and it was great! If that’s not a possibility maybe talk to a friend about their childhood, and you can talk about yours, even though they are not shared memories it can be fun for both people to talk about what was the same and what was different. Hope this helps and you can feel better!

Yes, those are valuable suggestions. In addition I would just love to have some pictures and old letters written by family members. Thanks for your encouragement!

Buy your childhood toys back on eBay. Makes great gifts, too, for a brother or sister. How cool if you found their favorite toy from childhood And gave it to them on their birthday!👍

A Dutch mark? If it’s a mark it’s German. Also we never had any notes looking like that as far as I have seen over the course of my life. Ignition really is Dutch it may be worth something. But my gut says: darling that’s German.
