This game is gorgeous. It's rare these days that you see a game that has such a unique aesthetic. It's refreshing.

Honestly when I first saw it, I fell in love with the style, but was afraid that it would be hard to play due to readability, but even without the accessibility options it's really easy to read while playing :)

@@Alzorath Considering your motion sickness I'm surprised the fewer frames wasn't an issue. It's tricky with games with styles like this because not everygame can be handdrawn or quicky artstyle game can be cuphead.

eh, camera motion is what gets me usually (or FoV) - though the framerate of individual characters/objects in this doesn't feel bad, since the game framerate is solid, you constantly have something moving.

Game was definitely inspired by psychedelics

Thank you so much for taking the time to go through this and there’s some great comments here for us to work on :) Also thank you for helping us with a certain bramble problem on a stream yesterday 😂

Thanks for making a great game :) - definitely looking forward to your future projects as well. (and I'm honestly surprised at the sequence of events that lead to that on stream - the perfect storm lol)

game, and it's music, are solid too - the music at times almost reminds me of Outer Wilds...

Finished it just yesterday. It has a unique art style, great music (have it on vinyl!) and like with every Metroidvania, simply progressing and unlocking new skills feels just much better and rewarding than in most other games I play. That said, I think there is also wasted potential. It takes too long to get to a simple double jump and even then, it's tied to an item that you lose with a new cycle the first half or more. So you have to reacquire is again and again and that's a chore. Speaking of which, traversal is wonky: While there were certain moments when I used the wall jump to my advantage, most of the time it was useless. The air dash even more so, cuz it only let's you dash backwards, like an evasion of sorts. And quick travel also is tied to specific requirements that are only accessible a bit later and even then, it's a chore to even activate it. I only managed to activate 3 quick travel points, most of the time, I just ran around the entire map - which is big. Combat is not complex, boss fights are fairly easy, although I don't need a hard challenge everytime I pick up a game. The plant mechanics work okay-ish, but more often than not they didn't do what I expected (even with the spray later). And oh yeah, had absolutely no idea what was actually happening😅😂. It's solid, but I would recommend it to people who are already invested in Metroidvanias.

Beat it after 45 hours of gameplay this morning and did not 100% the map or trophies, but goddamn, does it start to get frustrating later in the game lol Everything about this game aesthetically is incredible. Beautiful designs and the music is great. The storytelling is a bit rough and some of the game mechanics are just really tedius, but my ass would immediately buy a 2nd game upon release lol

this is a beautiful looking game that i would love to play the sequel for if the sequel actually had good gameplay instead of busywork

The visuals are great but there is something that feels a little bit weird about the animation and the movements of the protagonist. Walking looks... slippery ? Imprecise ? After playing many 2d platformers / metroidvania that are so "crisp", precise and reactive, I fear that will annoys me and reduces my fun. Hmmm, damn. I really crave a good metroidvania... but is that it ?
@Alzorath11 ай бұрын
the controls are more in line with classic metroidvanias, not more modern 'souls-like' inspired metroidvanias - it's subtle, but it's kind of like the difference between something like classic mario/sonic and something like meatboy/Celeste.

Bottom line is its a good game with new ideas, good game play, fantastic visuals, great story that makes you think and beyond the shallow combat which could use improvement and intensity but is still fun, it has a whole nother side to the game which is also fresh and fun. Recomend it
