The car can be reconfigured due to his circumstances to make things easier overall at a very low cash cost. Now he has good cash savings left and is left with just the student debt, which is a long term issue that deserves a long term plan, not a panic move,

We are living in unusual times. What happens if his rent goes up a lot? Mine went up $300 a month. His income is not regular. This is not a steady income. He is afraid because he knows this. Dave did not take into account that this is not a salary income. Dave doesn’t feel it in his gut anymore. I’m self employed, and I would worry about this guy if he follows Dave’s advice. Emergency funds are very important now. Inflation is not going away soon.

It puts more in my pocket to keep my student loan and put more money toward investments due to this interest freeze, the small size of the loan, my monthly budget, and the possibility of it being cancelled. I can spare 20% in interest before paying it off it in full so that just makes sense to me🤷‍♂️ most ppl would’ve recommended that I wait until after college to invest as well but that was one of the most beneficial decisions that I’ve made.
