Very relatable, especially the point about no one giving an f what other people are doing. I go out a lot alone, I just prefer it that way. As you say, no one's thinking "ooo it's weird they're sat alone", no one even notices! But it's so hard to get out of the mindset once you're in it.

Surely the best episode ever. First of all, speak so openly about feeling alone and lonely isn't easy and thank you for that. I really appreciated the phrase "it's better to hear advice from an introverted person like you, than from an extroverted one." I totally agree with you on the fact that people should be able to choice to be alone or not ... Personally, when I want to be alone I go swimming, underwater I can be alone with my thoughts. And, just like you, sometime I wanna do something like visit another country but I don't know who to do it with.

Thank you for 'oversharing' with us about this topic :) Personally, it really hits me. Since the pandemic started, 90% of the people with whom I shared some friendships disappeared. Now I can't help but ask if I am the problem. Your words allowed seeing loneliness in new ways and accept that not everyone is meant to be with others.

Many of the ideas and observations you've highlighted in this video, including enjoying your own company, not giving a sh*t about who's around you, and the differences of being lonely vs being alone; took me many years before I learned and understood each of them. Today I enjoy being alone, but I do have moments where I get lonely. The latter being a side-effect of the 2020 lockdowns and being an at home university student. Once I settle down at a new job and start being able to enjoy everything again, I can see things getting better.

I find that social people have the opposite issue. They miss out on events or food because they don't want to go alone. I personally go to restaurants and cinema alone, and still have a great time! You can do things in your own schedule and don't need to rely on others.

So many facts and situations in which I find myself, it feels like I'm the one actually speaking on that couch. Living in Italy doesn't help too because you have so much pressure to socialize for every job or stuff you want to do. In the end, I learned that friends come for themselves, you have to live and wait for people who are ok with your lifestyle, opinions, etc.

When I was in my teens and 20's I felt bad for saying "no" to people who asked me if I wanted to go to a club etc. but in the last few years I've learned that this is just me and how I'm happy the most. I'm an introvert, for me it costs energy to be around people. I've my football team I play with and see 3 times per week. I work in home office and have some meetings and phonecalls here and there and play like once per week a game online with friends. Every couple of months I watch a movie in the cinema with a friend and that's my social interaction. Otherwise I'm alone, I work out alone, watch movies at home alone etc.. WIth a girlfriend it's a bit more I do socially because I like having her around me, a girlfriend for me is not a person I lose energy on but just enjoy beeing together and so I also do more activities outside. For example when I had a football game and we also sit together for few more hours I go home, the others will go out for the whole night but that's not me, I'm tired/exhausted and need me time after this. And this is completely fine. Don't feel bad for that. It's just annoying when people don't understand you and try to convince you to stay or are mad at you for leaving early. Talk to them in a quite hour so they understand.

5:37 That's 80% of the problem in a small southern city like the one where I live, it was really hard trying to run/do jogging alone, but I nailed it. The 20% remaining are my friend who forgot about me when doing trips or nice things in the weekend even if I beg them every single day from monday to thursday when they simply stay at home.

I agree 100% what you shared on this video, and I see myself on you :D! I like to be alone but I like to share moments like you said, go to museum ´s, new coffee shop, sport activity etc. I feel I´m on a process and I need to go through this it is very hard but at the same time I feel I´m building my self :)

I think the part about being alone in public is just because of the way society has portrayed the person who likes to be alone as the outsider or the weirdo which is not true at all. There is power in being able to be alone and I feel the same. The power to do what you want to do without question, without judgement.

After three weeks in a new university and in a new city in which I didn talk to anyone (also if I went like everyday at every lesson) I decided to do something because I realized I was sad, so I just went to talk to others that I saw were also kind of lonely and I made a group of lonely and weirdos but at the end I found friends, laughs and company and that's what matter! So yea it's gonna be cringe, 100% cringe and awful to talk to strangers but sometimes we need to jump
