I'm a 65 yrs old single woman who has traveled and moved alone for 40 yrs. In the states I've lived in VT, NH, MA, CT, NC, FL, WI, AZ, NM, and Vegas driving alone with my dog. When my daughter was young she did some of these travels as well. These past five years I've lived in Europe, Mexico and back to Europe with a dog. I don't want to lay on my death bed and say I should've, could've, would've but I was too afraid. No I'm not rich nor have a big savings account backing me. Slow travel. Congratulations Misako 👏🏽

This is so dope! I’m a 33 year old black female with plans to one day live in Tokyo. My husband and I went to Tokyo together back in 2019. We were blessed enough to go again last year, but with our children and my mom. I will be there on June 1st for what was supposed to be my first solo trip, but my sister will be joining me. I’m excited because I think everyone should experience Tokyo at least once and I love being able to witness people’s reactions when they see Tokyo for the first time. We’ll be staying in the Shinjuku area. I just recently discovered Kamakura, so we will be dedicating a day to explore the seaside. Enjoy Tokyo!

I'm not sure who it was that commented about riding a bike around Tokyo at 3am being a core memory. but it sounds like something I'd say. Maybe it was me! Either that or there are multiple of us out here... I bought a place in Tokyo last year and I'm planning to go back this summer to furnish it and turn everything on. It's been a dream of mine to have a place in Tokyo since I was 23 years old. It took me another two decades to make that dream a reality, but I'm finally there! This gave me such a familiar feeling! I spent last summer in Japan and I miss it so much!!! I did a month at a Japanese language school (also in Shinjuku so maybe the same one!) and then I travelled for a bit. I could give you SUCH a list of places to try out and cute cafe's in the city, my google maps is basically covered in pins haha. For a good lunch deal there's this little place, I can't find them in google maps but its neat the Shinjuku 3 chome Starbuck, down the little street on the right hand corner, it has the darts up sign over the top, 500yen for lunch and you get such a good amount of food and its super yummy. For a cozy morning or afternoon coffee, check out Onibus Coffee in Naka-Meguro (it can get busy but I just love sitting upstairs watching the trains go by).

I met 9 friends that I talk to regularly on something called Line (on a language/penpal site I belong to). People are kind and helpful, so polite, and courteous. Food is delicious. The combinis are great, and I could not get over the type of foods they have at 7'11 or at Lawson's. The way they are so ahead in technology is simply amazing. I was able tp se Osaka and Kyoto, besides staying mostly in Tokyo. It did help I know a little Japanese to get by on trains.
