If you take some shallow water bottle caps and fill them slightly with a little bit of silicone, let them dry. You can then pop them out and put them on the bottom of your aquascape with a little bit of wet silicone to secure them in place to prevent slippage on your aquascape. Happy reefing

Scape looks great. I wish I did this. I went with the scape that looks beautiful but didn’t take into account coral growth and placement. I bought into the nsa aqua scape and can’t help feel that my fish would want more caves like yours has
@ReefBuildersVideo Жыл бұрын
I can't take full credit - had some great minds point me down the right road. I'm happy I went this route too. I imagine smaller fish hanging in those nooks and crannies while the tang gang patrols the column! Thanks for the kind words!! ~Remy

Aquascaping is so fun. I like the first version of the scape, But your right eventually the coral will become the structure and the focus.
@ReefBuildersVideo Жыл бұрын
I think the first version was just a bit too much. This seems minimal and leaves more room for the coral. Thanks for watching! ~Remy

Digging the proportions and how the rockscape "sweeps" to the right. Nice naturalistic look - I might try something similar since this NSA scape is getting a bit old and not so nice for fish habitats

I’m running into the same thing right now with my NSA and fish. You throw a couple tangs in there and the line of site between them is always open. It’d be fine if I had a bunch of smaller fish but it’s 100g and I need my tangs.

Perfect timing video series as I’ll be getting a 625 in the next couple of months. Would love your opinion as to getting the 500 reefmat and the 300 skimmer instead of the 1200 and 600 as I plan on having a refugium as well for a mixed reef rather than your plan for sps dominant. Keep up the good work!

What kind of livestock? Honestly, you could probably get the smaller skimmer but I'd definitely stick with the larger Reefmat if you can swing it. I think it will be worth its weight in gold down the road. ~Remy

Looks good Remi! I agree with in the end, the corals will cover what the rock looks like and will not matter. I think the surface area you create to be able to maximize the places to put coral on. I think the cool aquascapes has more place in a FOWLR system OR maybe in the tanks where people don't let the corals grow too big and can always see the scape. Anyways... keep up the great work. Oh.. and that shot after your surgery was hilarious. I don't care what anyone says, you look like a fun guy to be around with on the today show. lmao

Nice video remy, I agree that the aquascape takes the longest because you want it to look good but dont have an idea where corals will land. I learned from my nano I was never really happy with the scape and that caused me to change it around a bunch. I ended up taking about a third of the rock out because corals filled up so quick so I like your approach playing for the long game as long as its a solid scape it saves a lot of time!

@ReefBuildersVideo Жыл бұрын
There are no dumb questions, alllll good! I always try to do my best not to disturb the rock-work if I can help it. There are times where I have removed rock to brush algae off in a bucket but with these larger structures that becomes a chore. I’ll rely on the lawnmowers - tangs, rabbit fish…etc ~Remy

Love the aquascape! What are you planning to stock the tank with in terms of fish? Also are you thinking more of an SPS, LPS or mixed reef? Also WHY did you use the liferock?!?! Great aquascape, though the fake coraline color is kinda ugly in my opinion. Though thats just me, good luck with the tank!
