I hope you vlog Thailand! A lot of backpackers are always taking photos and videos for Insta so it won't be weird! I spent 3 months in SE Asia last March and went on my own, started in Thailand. The first day was terrifying and I couldn't stop crying and wanted to come home but as soon as I met people, I felt so much better. You will be fine as you're in a group and will feel safe. It's a lot more difficult when you're completely on your own and have to force yourself to talk to people but it's really good for your self confidence. I felt so safe in Thailand. Thailand is also very built up for tourists and I didn't get much of a culture shock (I'm the same age as you and from the UK). My advice would be to not overpack as you can buy everything you need out there. Just make sure you have sun cream and moisturiser from home as most of their products are lightening and brightening. Pair of sliders or flip flops for the showers, a microfiber towel, a reusable bottle (when you buy water, fill your bottle up as cold water from the shop gets so hot quickly) a couple of tote bag for shopping, laundry or to carry all your shower stuff to the bathroom! It's always so hot... you don't need any jumpers or trousers (only for temples) haha😂 Also, dont carry food on you if you know youre going to be near monkeys, they're very aggressive and i got cornered by a bunch of them! have fun!

I did this last year. Had a wild moment and booked a European travel tour last year. Went with G adventures who I’d recommend. Great people and great for self growth. Terrifying but so worth it. Hope you have the best time!!
