Voiced over video due to being a buffoon and leaving the radio on in the background so it’s forced me to do some dodgy editing for this one. Leave a like if you liked it and a comment if you didn’t. Always learning.

It's interesting how you've done it, I am looking at putting an RX8 gearbox into my mk1 Cortina.

Get a good adapter plate is my advice, you’ll probably need a big tunnel too. At some point I’ll be making a bracket to run a clutch cable to mine so hopefully if that’s the route you’re going it might help you do yours.

Hi from NZ. Doing the same with my mk2 estate. How did you decide on the position / placement of the output shaft of the gear box?

Do you mean in relation to the existing tunnel? I had a prop in the gearbox that was clamped to my diff flange so I could eye the line through while I made the mount. I might end up doing the mount a more simplified way yet when I get back on the car which unfortunately I haven’t been able to do for a while but I’m hoping that’s going to change this year.

Not had much opportunity to get anything more done. It’s definitely coming back into my priorities soon though and I want to go into more detail as to how I’ve done things and hopefully get feedback from others with ideas how I can improve on what I’m doing where possible.

I like the bracket design, currently brainstorming my own for a similar project but had a upside down j type brace design in mind using the original ppf mounting bolts and a stud either side of the tunnel to bolt up to i also have tubular version idea like yours and now im stuck to decide haha! Best of luck with it be great to see you get it all together 👍
