I can relate to my contract days with the railroads and driving a van moving crews around the system. I was lucky that when I joined my contract company, we had 10-hour rest periods per the Federal Railroad Administration or FRA (like your FAA). Because I worked coverage shifts my sleep schedule was always crazy, except for working in the railroad yards helping with storing the trains and getting the trains to their hotels. I also exercised, which made an enormous difference. I also have friends in DFW and my son and his family live in The Lake area. Thank you for sharing.

Farmer's Fridge started in the Chicago area. We had one at our office, but it didn't get enough use, and it was removed. It was on the expensive side compared with local restaurant, but was more convenient. But it's probably cheaper than other airport options.

So glad I worked for Delta Union Free for 23 years and our company implemented a longer crew rest without using Union representation years ago. I also never had to pay Union dues and that I’m so thankful for.

Yes, I just had airport standby. Our standby is only five hours. Its usually 0500 to 1030 or 0600 to 1100 A.M . Our reserve is about 12 hours From R330 to 1730, or R10 to 1159 :) we get paid but not for the entire day of reserve. I'm actually off reserve in like six minutes :) I'm still on reserve, it's hard lol. But at least we are based at home..I'm with Allegiant :) Great vlog

I always thought it strange to schedule flight attendants to work on little sleep.technically you can I suppose but its not smart to have safety staff all sleepy 😊 ideally the only thing you would do during a flight is serve drinks at 40k ft, that means all went ok 🎉 (I don’t get how any company would want FAs working on 6 hr of rest btw) It’s sad that it took that much effort to get something like enough sleep through to the companies though. I wonder if they’ll need to hire more people now?

Julia- I hope the 10-hour rest period becomes reality. It never fails to anger me when I see passengers misbehaving while on flights. I don't think flight attendants get enough credit for the great service. I was in an incident in 2020 on a flight between Atlanta and Austin, I was getting short of breath breathing through my mask, I finally requested oxygen, our flight attendant alerted the crew on the flight deck then brought an oxygen bottle, I was fine from this point on, but she went above and beyond checking on me. When the airline contacted me about customer service, I made sure the flight attendant was recognized

Hi Julie: The extra hour of sleep for flight attendants is great. Although in my opinion, any passenger who physically assaults a flight attendant, or has to be hauled off a commercial airline in handcuffs. Should be tossed in a county jail for a minimum of one month, and be put on a lifetime list, barred from flying on any commercial carrier again. The idiots can drive, take Amtrak, or a bus. If they want to cross the ocean; there's transport ships carrying sea cans. P.S. Instead of having one monster sized run on sentence in this paragraph, I turned it into two sentence fragments instead! 👍🤣
