Hello everyone and welcome to another video from Heavy Mining Equipment.The largest single fleet of intact Euclid trucks has been standing in the same place for over 30 years. Eight days ago, I was on the road trip and stumbled upon these old beauties. Then, I returned after a few days to the same place and discovered more sleeping beauties. I asked the locals about the story behind these machines, and they told me an interesting tale. Watch the video to find out more.

Cool. That little orange grader is cute. I could see you in the mine driving that. 😆

Wow, vintage old iron. No broken windows must be a stable population. I'm guessing the Caterpillar 992c loader was used until close to the early 90s because the fire extinguisher is relatively modern. I'm guessing the Layland grader was, too, as there are plastic drink bottles in the window, probably grading local community dirt roads. The luxury leather is still on the D8 seat. That is awesome. PAmining your required to travel here and do your thing. To the cameraman, get yourself a DJI gimble to create a more steady video. Overall, I watched the whole video. Well done, bloke.

At Terex Div. of GM in the USA we built a model similar to those, it was a 3305 About 30-40 ton capacity, the smallest hauler we made. That would be in the 1980's, after GM split away from Euclid and became Terex, sometime in the 1960's I believe. But I can tell you the haulers you have there were not built by us, they must be the older Euclids. I recognize the Bostrum air seat though!

@@HeavyMiningEquipment They could have been made in the USA Prior to the break up of Euclid by the lawsuit, I believe it was sometime in the early 1960's. After the settlement Terex was formed by General Motors, and I believe White Motors continued to build some Euclid machinery, I say that because we at Terex would sometimes ship certain parts to White Motors in the early 1970"s.

Did you see a unit that actually had a nameplate that said "Terex R35"? If you did, that is really strange because R35 is strictly a Euclid designation, Terex would be 3305, 3307, 3309, 3311, Etc.

How is all this old iron just sitting idle? I’m guessing the business owner died and had no one to continue? Was there no bank involved to auction the old equipment to settle a note? All kinds of questions about this place?
@HeavyMiningEquipment

The owner simply decided to park vehicles by the road and open their own personal museum, attracting travelers to his motel.

What was this equipment doing? I’m assuming some type of mining? If so what type of mine? Gold, coal, precious metals, non-precious, iron, copper? All kinds of questions? How could the owners afford to abandon millions of dollars of equipment? I’m assuming again, the breakup of the USSR had something to do with it?
