So glad to see this channel continue. I left animal meat behind 30 years ago, and finally left animal dairy and eggs behind over 10 years ago. Everyone is on an individual journey and all of those journeys are critical in creating a more just and sustainable way of living. I may not be salt, oil, and sugar free, but I am salt, oil, and sugar conscious. I am primarily being conscious. I stopped eating my fellow beings because I don't eat my fellow neighbors. Or dogs. Or cats. Humans can get every nutrient they need from the plant kingdom. Meat was never necessary, except in times of emergency, when there was little else to eat.

Glad to see you again Chuck! Here's what I'm up to atm.... I started the Kempner Rice diet (white Thai jasmine rice, greens, fruit, carrots, sometimes quinoa, herbs and spices) on November 9, 2024, because asthma meds made me 57 pounds overweight. As of February 1st, 2025, I've lost 35 pounds, and am still losing at a rate of about 10 pounds per month.

Sorry to hear about your friends deaths, but I hope u and your family are doing well healthwise. I am doing WFPB McDougall Starch solution and so far so good. I am committed this time to stay compliant and not to use added oil or fat to my food. So far its not been easy but will be worth the effort just to get my A1C back to normal. My doctor is really pushing Ozempic and I refuse on both my parents' grave to NEVER NEVER NEVER take that stuff. Keep up the good work. I think I will be ordering your cookbook and ordering Nutritional Yeast from Amazon hopefully soon

So glad to see you again! Can you remind me if you do SOS free or no. Particularly oil. I'm not referring to healthy fats, but the low nutrition, high fat seed oils. I'm 70, have been vegan for 10 years. I have so many of your video recipe saved. Love it that you are here in Oregon ( still right?). Several years vegan, whole food plant based. But!! My sugar, chocolate cravings do me in! After having Bariatric surgery, my type of eating is many small snacks. I can’t seem to figure out quick nutritious snacks. I have been SOS free until snack time hits me! ( like go out to eat then come home hungry) Left overs aren’t always enjoyable. Cooking all day long isn’t either. I end up grabbing what is available. That is where my husband comes into this,he likes potato chips, etc. trying to eat more fruit and greens. Anyway, could I just be burnt out, bored or a horrible vegan, whole food plant based,SOS, smacker?!

Hi Chuck. I’m diving back in to a WFPD lifestyle after a relapse due to poor support and family pressure. I’m in my 10th month and there’s so much more support out there now. It’s phenomenal. I have one vegan low fat friend who went through Dr. McDougall’s program 4 years ago, and she lives fairly close. I also meet online with Charles Smith, a food life coach for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. I love eating this way. My struggles continue to be that I’m alone in my family, and local restaurants still don’t get it. They often serve unhealthy vegan options. Your simple meal options will help me feed family members.

My challenge is cooking 2 different meals everyday and struggle with cooking for my father in law and eating what he's having...not plant based. I guess I'm just tired of working 40 plus hours a week and having to plan / cook two separate meal plans each week. Sometimes is easy but mostly not. I am also recently diagnosed pre/diabetic. I see the doctor this month and she will want to put me on medication, I've only lost 10 lbs in the last 3 months eating a calorie restricted diet.
