@@aaron___6014 It does because only then you have freedom. Without freedom you don't have anything, you're on borrowed time. Yes, we can have everything taken away from us if we reach FIRE but it's a bit harder. It's awful to be dependant on a salary to survive because you are frequently forced to do things you wouldn't otherwise.

My mom found some Patagonia cargo pants at a thrift store for under $10. It was a steal for sure! She is enjoying wearing them on our family vacation where it is warm. She didn't even know Patagonia was a fancy brand. She just wanted some decent quality wash and wear cargo pants.

The train system in Japan is amazing. Lots to like about it bc its so on time. =D

The train museum is a must with kids. I had almost as much fun as they did. Highly recommended. It is't weird at all. Kids under four ride free on shinkansen so we did it frugally. The shinkansen ice cream was great too. I didn't know what it was at the time; now I think it was likely houjicha, i.e. roasted green tea flavor.

90+ percent of premium coffee beans grown in Colombia are exported to US/Europe/etc, while the locals drink second tier most of the time. Still high quality, but you don't know until you get to the farms (cafeteros).

Last I heard there was quarantine and long lines to come in. I'm absolutely not dealing with that, what's your favorite airline to fly in business or first class to Japan? I didn't record much for that purpose so I'll just type. In Japan, you can submit your vaccine card before arriving to skip the line. No mandatory quarantine right now from US. My fav airline is ANA, great food. Tourism industry is well oiled by now and everything works. Masks required indoors and outdoors except when eating.
