Since I’m sure many of us are here after Liam’s passing- this message is for Bear for when he’s older if he decides to watch this video and read comments someday. Bear, I hope you have the opportunity to see and know how loved your Dad was to so many. Whatever the circumstances were, it doesn’t change how much he loved and still loves you. It takes a strong and honest person like your Dad to be able to be vulnerable about the good times and the hard times. I hope your Dad’s legacy in art, music and personal life inspires you to find joy and meaning about the good times through your life. And as you get older, you’ll learn just how loved he really was, is, and will continue to be. RIP Liam. 🕊️. Condolences to all that loved him, especially his family and friends (written 10/18/24)

I also thought Liam had the most interesting trajectory out of all the 1D members from the beginning where he was pretty much the main singer to after the group where he didn’t fully find his footing in the solo career but stayed true to himself and supportive of his band mates all while going through physical conditions, addiction and mental health issues to now being gone. He deserved so much better. He worked so hard during 1D then after lost himself a little then fought his way back and then when he was struggling again no one saw he needed help again? Like someone else said we all were shouting about it in the comment sections I was so worried something was going to happen so how did those close to him not do something- how did they leave him alone (especially that hotel). It just breaks my heart. He was there for everyone else and always showed up … he deserved so much better. I’m so sorry, Liam.

Never listened to any of the music, not a single bit, from one direction to the solo stuff. Don't cry over celebrities dying. But i shed tears today learning that this had happened. I think it's because i like the man himself. I see alot of myself in him. I watched that podcast all those months ago and just felt sorry for him. I knew something wasn't right with him, hasn't been for a long time. It can be witnessed across his most recent public appearances and interviews, too. The infamous one at the Oscars after the will smith slap being arguably the most telling. And while he got a LOT of stick for that interview and his energy, accent and words in it, it makes sense now. He really didn't know who he was. Ultimately, though, we DO know who he was. Just another human being. Beautiful, scarred, scared, full of anger and passion and ready to make mistakes. That has literally always been the human experience. Never changed. The only thing that HAS changed, is that social media has arrived. Now, every even partially well known person will have their mistakes aired repeatedly to the world and will be criticised perpetually. Scrutinised, brutalised, laughed at, judged, blamed.... whatever. All of the above. That's what our culture has become now. The anonymous and mobile nature of the Internet has allowed people the ability to EXTREMELY comfortably and conveniently afflict their unfiltered, morally unrealistic opinions and judgement on others. Mostly, like i said, well known figures like celebrities. Forgiveness is not a thing anymore. Forgive and forget? How could we forget when everything these people (yes, people, they're actual human beings) do and say is recorded and immortalised on the Internet? Every mistake, embarrassing moment, blunder.... EVERYTHING. And people just absolutely eat it up. They live for the drama of it. It's entertainment. People ain't happy unless they get their bi-monthly cancelled celebrities. So that they can get their grimey fingers on their keyboards and fire away the most vile, moral high-horse judgements they can possibly think of. All the while sitting happily in the comfort of their home and anonymity, from a nice, safe distance. So brave. Speaking their mind so viscously, while the person in question can't even defend themselves or speak for themselves as the "news" and story spreads to other people. So brave to lay out your judgements from your couch or your bed in your pyjamas before locking your phone screen and moving on with your life, consequence free. All that judgement and vitriol, and then boom. You hit that button on the side of your phone and it's all forgotten. Except it's not, not for people like Liam. Not that any of these people even remotely give a shit about the effects of their great moral conquest of proving how "bad" a bloke Liam Payne or whoever else is in the crosshairs that particular day. Would it not be interesting, however, for all of YOUR dirty laundry to be revealed publicly, for all to see and judge. Let's see how much you still live by the "no sympathy" mindset when it's YOU being scrutinised and judged for your mistakes. I'm willing to bet that perhaps some attitude adjustments would take place. Maybe you'd ask for some understanding or leniency. For people to realise that you're human and make mistakes. Maybe you'd wonder where these people get off acting like they're perfect and never make mistakes just because nobody KNOWS about their mistakes. Why don't you consider those things BEFORE you send that comment condemning the latest celebrity cancel culture target? think to yourself "this could so easily be me in his position. I've had drinking problems/whatever problems, thank God i don't have the same spotlight on my life, because if people knew some of the mistakes I had made..." Consider that. Because you've not fooled anybody into thinking you are morally perfect. We don't need to know you to know that you are not. Nobody is. And who knows? Maybe by taking the time to consider the fact there's another human being behind that celebrity veneer, a human that feels every word, and has a limit, maybe we could prevent more people from ending up like Liam Payne. I know that he had his problems and that obviously the Internet is not the sole cause of this. But i think we can see just by watching this video, it REALLY didn't help. Infact it made things demonstrably harder. Hopefully he's resting peacefully. Free of the Internet, and that burdensome spotlight.

What caught my attention in Liam's interviews was that he was painfully honest with his fans. He spoke openly about his health problems. Unfortunately, he was not properly understood. and haters took advantage of that. "It's like kicking a fallen person" - millions for one. Addiction is a terrible disease of the soul that destroys a person from the inside. Personality disorders appear. Liam fought all of this until the end. Before you reach for alcohol or drugs to numb the growing pain. You have to realize that you are falling into a well from which it is very difficult to get out. Liam, Rest in peace.😪🙏

Even if it sucks or isn’t famous. Don’t stop making music. Period. 3. Create new content - we would love collaborations between you and other music artists (can be carpool karaoke, which seems to be hip nowadays, or do podcasts about their journeys, or do cover videos with artists, or open a game segment - music related fun games every other week or so. There’s a lot). 4. Draw more & pick up new hobbies. You can try them out with your son too. I’m sure he’ll love that. 5. Just be a humble and kind person. A kind person >>>>>>> a good musician!
