I note your "little bits of string" holding up things - having to rig a ship would put that model on the backburner for me! My list is: - WNW 1/32 Brisfit - "a little bit of string", and need to remake two of the bottom wing to fuse struts out of metal tube. My first WNW kit, and proper rigging job. Components are done. - Airfix 1/144 Heracles - need to scratch the interior - thanks for the seat 3D printing files. Also bought a cheap metal profile gauge at Bunnings to help with the bulkheads and floor shaping, and found some reasonable plans online. - Airfix 1/48 Gannet - some masking, and need to get the airbrush out when the weather is good (it is out on the balcony). major build is done. - Tamiya 1/48 RAF Ambulance - just painting and final assembly. A bday gift from my grandson a week ago just before going away, and the majority of assembly took ~ 1 hour. - Zvezda 1/72 C30J RAAF. Just started one night whilst away from the bench in front of the telly - could glue some major pieces together, but back in the box. Waiting for a second mortgage and larger house so I can put it somewhere! - AM 1/48 B25B Doolittle raider - all but finished, built whilst overseas 20 years ago, did a c$%p paint job so needs a respray. Still in the box with wings and tail separated. I do try to keep projects moving - I don't like having too many on the go at one time. As for the stash though...Scalemates is a handy site for tracking that.

That is a lot of kits, Harry and, if I was in Oz, I'd certainly take that little tank thing you have. It's so cute! Hope it finds a good home. As for backlogs, well, as my stash has steadily grown over these past months, my method for working through it just to concentrate on one kit at a time. So far, it's only aircraft, and an airship, I've built. Now it's time for a proper old school sailing ship. So, I've started on me HMS Bounty and won't stop until it's complete. I know it's temping to dabble in other kits, have an old '70s Airfix Blenheim IV I have been wanting to build, but these other kits are staying in their boxes, waiting their turn.

Hi Harry, I know the feeling, sometimes these little parts to finish can weight a ton. I think that your idea to go with the ones that are almost done is great. The problem I faced many times when I scratch build things is that there is consequences delaying the rest of the model and full sets photo etch is also a mojo killer. I would suggest that you sell those Wingnut wing kits behind you to a loving home, they are valuable and what are the chances that you are ever going to build them all? (I start to sound like my wife😖) I wait to get closer to the holidays to sell all my Pocher, old Tamiya 1/12, "great deals" and all my cool impulse purchases, focusing on finishing what I started and small kits. Good continuation👋🏻

Having got into a situation years ago where I had some 5 or 6 on the go at once and I think I ended up binning 2 or 3 as they were never going to get completed. I now strictly stick to one kit on the go and I’m not starting another till it’s done. The one exception being watching your videos I’ve finally started my first ever sailing ship, Airfix’s 1966 HMS Victory, that’s going to take a while as I’m planning quite a makeover on it, so a plane might slip in here and there to break it up….

I have sold hundreds of my kits to reduce the bloated stash. My tastes have changed during the years since coming back to the hobby. I got into armour for the first time so went crazy buying every Dragon kit I could find. All sold now. The mania took over with Wingnut Wings kits and I bought just about every one they produced. Sold over half of those now. I had a fleet of large scale battleships I would never have the time or display space for. So they are gone. The reality is unless I can get more free time, but still pay the ever increasing bills, I will never build all my kits.

I now face the prospect of basing them up, Grassing and applying the finishing touches. Even if I were to start tomorrow and do nothing else, there are months of work ahead of me. Once completed, they will sit in my display cabinet alongside thousands of other Napoleonic Figurines. Why the procrastination? Well, I stopped Table-Top Wargaming decades ago and instead have simply allowed my armies to grow. Utterly pointless really.
