I'm building a gator pond enclosure!

I like the idea of smaller crocodilians allowing you to keep the turtles in the enclosure. It is not like Florida is short on alligators. Your a turtle guy keep the turtles!

Dear Kenan! If I were you I would keep the Asian turtle pond, partially because it would be extremely hard to relocate the turtles and partially to have the gaters farther from the house and the rec. pond (I’m sure Kate would like it too). In my opinion you should dig a second pond towards the sulcata enclosure.

I feel that it would be a waste to remove the Asian turtles, they are currently your most interesting animals with the highest conservation value. Why would you move them just for gators, although they are big there is nothing special about them, you can see them locally anyway. Doesn't make sense to me, if you want to stick with crocadilians the small species would be great for education.

This is increadible and if your trying to connect all the ponds via the river you can separate them with a soft net or something big enough for the fish and small debris to pass through but small enough to keep the turtles or gaters in the designated areas

When I saw the room I was thinking do one exactly where it is but extended towards the tracks from the diggers, and the second directly ahead so if it came to it he can separate the ponds easily if he needs.. But it's Kennen I'm sure he has many plans already and will work the best out!

@@savagesky3311 The rec pond was FREE from the Aquascape guys, in exchange for them using it as a training opportunity for their contractors, and also for some exposure. The donations go to feeding and supplies for the Kamp. As for living, Kenan was smart and saved his money from his pro biker and TV announcer days. I think he mentioned in the past he also does some voiceover work from time to time.

Kenan since you have Kids maybe you should also install something like a nest surveillance or some kind of camera system around the enclosure that will notify you when someone is around or approaching the enclosure. This might help ease some of Kate's concerns. She will be able to get an alert if the kids are near the enclosure.

@Mycel He already gets the occasional wild alligator entering his property. I think it's far better for the kids to learn about the dangers with the aid of a control set up. Most of us want our children to be safe but we must all strive to teach them hazards of this world. I think living in Kamp Kenan must be like living on a farm or ranch. Children grow up in farms around heavy equipment and large animals and they learn to be safe. I think Kenan should go for it, IF AND ONLY IF he manages to get Kate onboard. Of course extreme caution and precaution must always be taken. P.S. I think younger kids are more inclined to learn and listen to us vs. Teenagers

I would build a second pond in lieu of moving gators into the Asian turtle pond, especially since they just got acclimated and comfortable enough to nest. For me, those turtles breeding trump gators. Great video ❤️
