What would you want different for parenthood? It's one of my favorite packs I think. Dine Out's limitations are obvious lol. My one wish for Parenthood - I wish my Sim could "parent" kids who aren't theirs, specifically asking toddlers and children to not make a mess on my rug, or ask children to clean it up. 😆I've downloaded a mod that lets me do that. But I think it particularly bothers me because I play with multiple mods that involve caring for NPC toddlers (I use a foster care mod, and a daycare mod), I'm not sure if the average player would run across the problem as much as I do. It would have been a great update for Growing Together though, because now NPC children and toddlers will stay at your home during sleepovers or stay overs. I was hoping Growing Together would have a daycare career like they had in Sims 3, but I'll just stick with my mod instead.

Of course their representation of infants and toddlers isn't complete, but it feels familiar. The teenagers, on the other hand, look 30 years old, and act like an alien's representation of an 80s teen movie.

@@ILuvAyeAye To be moderately gracious to the devs, most simmers are also probably going on stereotypes, entertainment, and vague memories (for example, teens aren't automatically shorter dependent on age, although this is probably why some people keep asking for tweens as a shorter in-between stage as a gradual shift, not unlike infants and previously toddlers were for kids.) Also IRL teens are now dealing with stuff people never had to deal with in the past just 40 years ago, so when the game is taking its sweet time updating outfit trends, I'm not that surprised if they don't seem the most realistic. But also, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Teens function basically the same as young adult and up; elders aren't really differentiated either (although I'd hope Growing Together helps that a bit.) The main issue is just the Sims AI, which is pretty bad in general, especially the more sims there are on a given lot and the more packs there are introducing new AI options. The only reason the infants and toddlers seem remotely relatable is they're a much more simplistic and limited life-stage, plus they were added in later through updates and aren't applicable for a lot of the other, competing AI options (although if they find any, I'm sure they'll get all stretched out and creepy looking doing the animations that weren't meant for them lol.) Kids have been scraping the bottom of the barrel since Base Game and have been getting some small updates here and there with each pack, thank GOODNESS they added in additional kid aspirations even if it's only four, but no one really complains because kids "limitations" are viewed as natural when IMHO they're just as wrecked and even more minimal than Teens are. Since Sims 4 has gone on way longer than anyone expected, the devs are now taking time to focus on what the most vocal sections of the community have been begging for (and not always getting it right but trying.) Otherwise we wouldn't even have infants and toddlers. The devs probably wouldn't have been concerned or else EA would've overruled it.

Also, the outdoor lantern things are not useless! They work like fireplaces outside, so that Sims near them don't freeze in cold weather. Trust me, they came in handy on a lot of family events/rags to riches I've done, probably my most used thing from the pack

I was gonna say this! They function similar to the little space-heaters from Snowy Escape; very useful for community lots if you have seasons. I never considered using them at home lol (but then I usually forget to do proper patios and such for my Sims.)

Yes! That’s how I have outdoors weddings in fall/winter without it turning into a mass sim casualty event. I put those patio heaters everywhere! Just note though - depending on the venue type, you have to click on them in live mode and turn them on! I also like to use them to do outdoor fall sleepover events!

Small warning about the outdoor host station - I did that once in a build while having seasons installed and if you are anywhere that snows in game you will have at least one hostess die during a dinner/date event. Make sure to put it inside if you are placing the lost somewhere that is effected by winter, unless you want a death filled date lol.

There is a mod that makes Dine Out work a little better. Carl's Dine Out Mod, where you can be the chef/waiter and host - so now you can actually have a family owned restaurant. It also has where you can add the produce from your own garden to use in the meals you cook. Great build by the way, new subscriber but not to the channel. Have fun at the concert!

As a fellow kpop stan that also has anxiety, bring ear plugs, some candy, and if you can bring inside non caped water bottles, put the cap on your bra or similar 😅 Its way easier to drink water if you arent worried about spilling it in any second. And belive me. Seats are your best friend if you have anxiety. Is different from being next to the plataform but, you dont have to worry about people squishing u.

As a lactose intolerant person irl, the sims lactose intolerant trait actually seems kind of accurate. Especially the fact that lactose intolerant sims will still autonomously consume dairy products lol. I would be interested in seeing if anyone has made a lactaid pill type of gameplay feature where like your sim can take a pill and be immune to the effects of dairy for a few hours or something like that.

A lot of the packs she only used 1 or 2 items from each. To give an example - Snowy Escape is used only for the sink, easy to swap out for a base game one. The main packs you need for this are Eco Lifestyle and Dine Out. And Growing Together if you specifically want to use that lot, but you can place anywhere.

I totally understand where you're coming from with the driving anxiety. I used to have it badly too until I was basically forced to drive a lot for my job and my family, and I lived near Atlanta so traffic was always bad😅. Even still, the anxiety can sneak up on me when going somewhere new, but it is always worse in our heads than in real life. I tend to imagine the worst scenarios, even subconsciously, but it usually turns out to be no big deal. Hope you have a good time at the concert and thanks for the great content 😊

What helps with my anxiety a lot is if there's signs for certain lanes and you know what lane you need to get in, get in that lane as soon as you can and staying there instead of trying to merge later on

Parking! At big events like that, the best way to go is to show up early. I went to a Twenty One Pilots concert last year, and we showed up like an hour early, and we were able to park super easily. We walked across the street to a restaurant, were there maybe 30 minutes, and man that half hour made a huge difference. Walking back to the venue, that parking lot was FULL. But when we got there, it was mostly empty.

There's actually a mod called Dine out reloaded (James Turner and Dr Gluon have been playing with it) where you could actually set the bar as the designated ordering spot, and then the sims will go line up and place their orders and then even pick them up from the serving hatch themselves if you want them to! Dress comfortably, make sure to have clothes with secure pockets/or small bag. It can be easy to have stuff slip out when you're not paying attention in a crowded and rowdy area. Some concert places don't let you bring water bottles cause they're greedy butts. But it is important to make sure you're hydrated during these. Either bring an empty water bottle or be ready to pay for an expensive water bottle if there's nowhere to refill or they won't let you take it in.

It didn't occur to me to think about how taking an infant or toddler to a restaurant would work. I feel like that's a missed opportunity. I absolutely want this in my game, but I'll take out the parking lot. Not needed in my car-free utopia of TS4. The story about having to drive to a show while being terrified of it just makes me happier to be without them and super sad that you have to go through that.
