In defense of Sazar, Nixon did work to pass a lot of environmentally helpful policies. ESA (Which definitely still has a lot of issues but is a good step), Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act. If he didn't do the whole water gate thing he might've been a pretty good overall pres.
