Dude, Tore! It is heartbreaking to hear that you are having a tough time like this. I really hope things turn around for you as soon as possible. I just want to say that I am fan of your music, the music that really helps me get through my work every day. When I first heard your compilations a few years ago, I was so excited that I found you. The music you make resonate deeply in me. Sometimes I wake up in the morning with your riffs playing in my head. So, while I have the chance, I want to say a massive thank you. You have been absolutely instrumental in helping me deal with my daily life. \m/ \m/

That kind of hits the nail in the coffin and says alot about the current situation in the Guitar genre on KZbin in general. Back when you started to upload the Backing Tracks you are talking about you were and also still are a great source of inspiration to me. I just feel comfortable with your play and it kind of feels easy to me to get into and along the stuff you play. I have to say that I´m not suprised that you come up with this video and what you say, because I followed your numbers every single month since and noticed the drop of course... I approached KZbin the other way around, because of the exact problem you mention here. You simply have such a crazy competition in this genre, alot of people with a couple 10k subs and now even the channels with 100k have trouble to get into any significant feed with their music. It might not be the best advice and hack in the world, but as you were asking for it I would like to show you the way that I go to pass the barrier we currently face. I have found a little niche with a rare 7-String Squier Stratocaster and noticed none of the big channels that is into rebuilds went anywhere near where I went with this Guitar. Right now it is by far the best Custom Squier Metal Guitar on KZbin and i´m growing the entire channel based on Ad campaigns on this particular Guitar. Currently I was able to gather 10k subs in one week in Oktober. For me personally this is the way how I direct and steer my audience across the whole landscape until my channel does get the weight necessary to compete with the big players. Just last week I made fun of the exact problem you have here and went Live with my Ad campaign. I´m going to link it for you guys below and I hope you can have a laugh, because of the Live Stream names. The problem Tore has is the exact reason I went Live and made a joke out of it. I swear people did not even have a clue what was going on there..... kzbin.info/aero/PLeJMEMxo-ssEeweGl8W0MN6CGgiDoM2Za&si=_9D48eL3wXWjpLjb Thats the entire playlist of my streams. I do all this with just one single Ad on the Guitar Build Timelapse video on my frontpage. This is the video I´m using for the subscriber gains you can see on the playlist: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYPMoqigrdOMY6M For me this is the only solution I currently see to overcome the problem. "Eric Cartman - Weightgainer 2000 the Ultimate fighting Coloss" It is the only and still insanely strong trump card we Guitar people have. The Ad campaigns nail and find the exact audience everyone of us does need and when you do something very good, like I did with my Guitar build for example you can get a staggering 20% Impression clickrate. I also uploaded a video that does show that and the problem with the normal Algorithm: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaiQo4GZg95_o9E It basically proves what I say and confirms the problem. I made the damn best Custom Fender related Metal Strat and even the best Guitar of its kind has no chance on the feed with the weight of my channel.
@knuppelklaus3 ай бұрын
The aporoach is kind of crazy, but the sub count in those live videos is as well. 10k in one week with one Ad is hilarious....
@metalguitarstuff3 ай бұрын
I have done the whole ad campaign to get subscribers thing on another channel. And trust me, those subscribers are super worthless, borderlining bots. None of them will ever watch your videos ever again, and it will hurt your video statistics big time because they only click your video and don't actually watch the whole thing. It's all very suspect business by Google, getting us to pay for subscribers.
@ElectricalEcho3 ай бұрын
@@metalguitarstuff I agree with you, there definately is a difference between the subscribers you get with the Ad campaign and the real ones ones you get on the videos. For some reason and that honetly is suspicious they do not click the successful videos that do earn the most revenue. Those videos have like 4-5% at max. It promises alot, because it kind of lets you take the wheel and direct the subscribers across the entire landscape. Unfortunately it is too early for me to give a trustworthy answer on how it does impact the overall weight the uploads get in time. The thing I hope for is the super crazy growth rate. I know I will have 350k subs in 2 years.... I mean that has to do something. If not we have reached the point where even a channel of that size has become worthless I have already paid the Ads to go through until that moment. I guess we will be smarter then. It does not hurt me that much financially, because the Guitar always does get like 20% clickrate on impressions at least. As long as it does work out like this it is super cheap. It definately is a gamble and an experiment, but I´m willing to take the risk. What choice do I have? I´ve put 3,5 grand into the Squier and the Algorithm favors Hello Kitty Guitars anyways, just because the guy has 300k subs or nice melons and a short skirt One thing I can already say for sure. Every Ukraine bot is much more worth in terms of retention than the average german from my hometown. Hometown germans are the real danger I face here

Sorry to hear about your decision, but I can absolutly understand. I first get in contact with your work when i started to play edrums. As a former drummer of a hardcore band I was looking for some heavy drumless tracks to jam to. When I found the drumless version of your songs it was like „BINGO!“ Your music like „Challenges“ etc. became my favorite material to jam to. I should have done that before, but I guess it is never to late: Thank you so much for these tracks and all your time you spend for sharing your music for free!

Funny thing is that I found out about you FROM that compilation video with the Skyrim wallpaper. Ever since I found out who actually had those tracks, I migrated from listening to that compilation to just playing them straight off of your channel. What I also noticed in my time spent making music here and there on KZbin is mainly consistency and something to get clickthroughs but I also believe that there're other changes going on on KZbin's backend and affecting discoverability. Google is also in some really hot waters as of late and I have a hunch that's also somewhat affecting it, at least, on the European side of the world. I really hope this levels out in the near future because the world needs more musicians that are putting themselves out there. And you sir, have a collection of killer tracks! :D

And then you hit the nail on the head with the exact right term! You're not just a great musician, obviously. Yeah, I know it's kind of a Scandinavian thing. Meanwhile I've just come back from Italy where they're forcing me to learn Italian really quick. 😆It's great for me for learning, but man, a lot of people are embarrassed to speak English there. Anyway, congrats on the newest addition to the family. There's no shame in switching gears to focus on them either. I'm sure you're going to raise some awesome little metalheads. Sad to hear that, bro. I've been enjoying your music for seven years now. You mentioned being canceled-what do you think led to that? The first time I heard your music was on a compilation on KZbin called "Instrumental Metal Music..", something like that... I think it was someone else's channel, I don't remember. There were songs that I liked and when researching I was able to find your channel, and that's how I started following you on KZbin, and then on Spotify. I'm not an expert, but, 1. I think that before people used KZbin more to listen to music, while at home, but the way people listen to music now has changed a lot. 2. I think KZbin used to be a better, cooler place, nowadays the suggestions that appear are not usually as interesting, and the content has changed a lot. I think that has affected that audience that used to watch KZbin before. 3. I have seen how several KZbinrs mention similar things, including that before KZbin was more educational, today it is more of a different type of content. I think that artists like you, who are clearly inspiring and do extraordinary musical work, should stay on all possible platforms and continue doing their thing as much as possible.

I'll be honest man as somebody who admires your work but in a casual enough sort of way. I use music like yours on youtube mostly for "background music" when I am working. The music is great and there are no lyrics to distract me when I'm coding (which can make me lose my train of thought). But the way I usually find your content is by searching - not through subscription / new content. Because my experience tends to be "request driven" (i.e. give me instrumental music to work to) rather than creator driven, I tend to make my selection based on searches as / when I want the music rather than having loyalty to any particular creator or impulse driven suggestions. When I have been doing this recently, your videos probably come up less than they used to. Something I never really tjought about until I saw your posts. Anyway I do enjoy your work man and hope you can turn it around - good luck!

Simply put people have no interest in new content and are no longer interested in old content as well. I have stopped looking on your channel 2 year ago. It is an outside factor which you can't influence at all. Music compilation channels and creators unfortunately have only two success path on YT, one is to do your own music full time, two become publisher and music creator, if you are like Aim to A Head or even Distrokid. Wish you the best. 👏🎉

The graphs made me think that there's something fishy going on with the YT algorithm. That kind of sudden decrease just doesn't seem right. After all, you're not a political commentator or something. Those people can suddenly lose viewers because of something they said or did but you're only making and sharing music. Also, it appears that YT did not act in a transparent way about the changes they did in the algorithm. Otherwise you also would have adapted to the changes and carry on with your normal routine. I hope someone from the YT management can give you some proper info about what's going on and why your revenue stream suddenly dried up.
