Metal Guitar Stuff is the personal KZbin channel of the lead guitarist and composer of SHADOWMIND. On this channel I post mostly metal related music, but also other videos like cover songs, tutorials, guitar lessons and so on. I have been teaching guitar for several years and produced numerous albums for my own band and other bands. I have been playing guitar since 2007.
I own everything in my backing track / instructional / original song videos, including the audio recordings, editing and photography used. All paid software used is licensed.

Right from the start when I heard about AI getting more traction in the general public realm, I had a sense of foreboding about it. And situations like this where genuine content creators like yourself Tore are continuously muscled out of the algorithm without any concern to how it would impact you. It's happening for other creators too, not just the music industry & it really needs to be dealt with across the board. I really hope at some point there's a toning down of this insatiable fad following for things that have no substance, unlike the real & far better works from people like you Tore. I hope things improve for you & others in similar situations.

I don't have a single AI song for "metal playlist" in search results. I also use KZbin all day long and I literally have no AI songs recommended. Many channels I follow (nothing to do with music) are in the same situation - it's not related to AI trend, must be something else. Also, not only KZbin.... all my blogs are in the same situation since March 2024 (was a massive Google Core Update that destroyed everything for many, many people). P.S. this video was recommended in my feed.

+1 .. I love Tore's music but there's so much music out there I feel it is hard to stand out for purely playlist based channels. AI cannot compete with real human's behind instruments sharing tutorials, the mixing / production tips, tabs etc. Worth recommend branching out into more tutorial style videos - I for one, would love to make music myself like Tore does and would love to learn from his experience.

on another channel that makes the same content as you (Jacob Lizotte) commented the same thing, that AI could affect your channels, maybe you could exchange opinions, make collaborations..., in my opinion, if it affects you, maybe you should make the videos recording yourself with the guitar, claiming that your skill is much better than an AI.

I can immediately tell the difference between the music generated by AI and the music made by a real person. I always skip over the AI slop. It's not good.

Tore, I think you could charge at least $300 for custom songs with your talent. There's a lot of vocalists out there that want custom tracks with the rights/license. Best of luck to you. Thank you for all your incredible music.

Sad to hear about your channel. Allow me to offer my opinion? I think you were doing better when you were focused on creating metal backing tracks for us. Since you’ve gotten away from that, I can tell your videos have’nt been as popular. You gotta stick to what works for you. Backing tracks were working for you. Maybe get back to that? Just my $0.02. Always love shredding over your material and quite a few of my videos feature your backing tracks.

The problem is just time, and time is money. Cost of living increases and I still need to pay my bills. If there is no money in the music, I need to spend that time doing something else, until I have more free time in the future.

KZbin algorithm and its rules is not good platform now for musician. It is wasting time and Less money for content creator or musician

AI music is absolutely terrible. I just don't understand how people can keep listening to it. Do those people have no taste? No perception of quality? Now I'm not a music conneseur myself, I'm not talking as if I'm a music snob. But, seriously, AI music is literally worse than the human-made B.S. I listen to from time to time for fun or sht.

Many of us make 0. Why don’t you switch formats? I love your music but many I see are far too long for me to watch. Maybe join the club and use something like soundverse to add vocals? Or show your process you use? Don’t let the fact that your stats go down determine your actions! Like I said many of us make zero……nada.
